D&D (2024) The Multiverse in the 2024 Players Handbook

Let's remember the elemental chaos is also present, and I like this, because it is a plane that allows more different types of planar adventures.

Deities, archinfernal and archicelestial can create their own demiplanes, the astral domains, and these should be a safer option against rivals and enemies.

I would add two layers to the elemental chaos of Limbo, one linked to postivive energy and Feywild, and other to negative energy and Shadowfell, allowing a future update of quasielementals.

My own version of the infinite staircase now recycles a lot of the creepypaste mythology about the background and liminal spaces.

We shouldn't forget that demiplane created by the mercanes to be the main rival of Sigil in planar trade. (It appeared in the book of the epic levels, 3.5 age).

I don't like how Feywild more or less replaced Positive energy and Shadowfell Negative energy...
Positive and Negative still exist, though they don't come up often.

The 2014 DMG had an image showing them as "enveloping" the rest of the cosmology from "above" and "below" respectively (see below), and in the one of the recent preview videos, in the context of talking about how healing spells can now heal undead and constructs, they mentioned exploring the classic "undead damaged by healing magic" thing as a weakness for specific monsters instead of applying it to undead as a category, with creatures made up of shadowy matter from the Negative Plane (presumably shadows, wraiths, and the like) as prime examples of monsters that weakness might apply to in the future.
