The Rerisen Tower(DM: Iron Sky, Judge: ScorpiusRisk)

I say we press on. If the ravens went that way, the garrison there may need all the help they can get Fredrock says.

[sblock=short rest]
spend a Healing surge for 8HP, bringing me to 32/33. Don't know if we get an AP back or not tho.

Let us catch our breath and hurry on. We must save the people of the tower, even if it is a slim chance of hope that they are still alive. Kaz says.

[sblock=ooc]
Kaz is OK with healing surges, does everyone else have enough?. I will spend 2 to get up to max HP.

Did that skill challenge count as another milestone?

"By all means," Livia grumbles. "No reason to delay our grisly deaths any longer than is necessary."

[sblock=surges etc]I've spent so much time trapped on the bridge with that one craftsman that I feel he should have a name...

Anyway, Livia spends 2 surges to get back to full hp.[/sblock]

"mbmdmfff" Eithal say's through the tuft of grass into which her face has fallen and waves her hand motioning for everyone to keep going. She lifts her head, "Ah'll cayatch up."[sblock=OOC]I assume that we'll get a short rest. Three surges should get Eithal back up to normal. This puts her at 9 left. That is, unless anyone's got a healing power that can boost the power of her surges so she only needs to spend 2 :D.[/sblock]

The Master Mason nods to you all. "Thank you, I'm sure the militia will be grateful to get reinforcements, especially the likes of you all. I won't force anyone though, it's not too late to turn back. I wouldn't blame you..."

The craftsmen nod, many giving you slaps on the back and words of gratitude.

The one who was with Livia extends his hand. "Charles Woodwright is my name, and I am forever in your debt for what you all did. If you handn't been here, I know I'd be a dead man today."

[sblock=OOC]Technically, that second skill challenge was an encounter, so APs for everyone.

We'll assume you rest for a while, Corvus healing anyone who wants to spend a surge his surge+1d6(or surge +3 if you don't feel like rolling it at IC).

We'll give Cleverusername until tomorrow night to come back. If he doesn't, he'll call that battle enough and head back to Daunton.[/sblock]

[sblock=retcon]
Kaz will only spend 1 healing surge and be healed by Corvus for 2 extra hp.

Corvus, having helped tend people's wounds, mumbles something about "being to old for this stuff" and has a short, hushed conversation with the Master Mason. She nods and thanks him profusely before he turns and gathers his things.

The warlord shakes hands solemnly with each member of the party, then turns and begins heading down the river looking for a ford.

"He is free to decide as he will, but I am afraid he will be sorely missed if we face the dead again," the Master Mason says. "No matter, we must press on."

The group travels hard for several hours, the trail getting steeper and rockier by the hour. The sun sets in a blaze of red and gold, then leaves the path lit by a gleaming full moon. A hundred stars have come out by the time you see a square tower, perhaps thirty or forty feet tall, ahead, jutting from a cliff face over the sea.

The light from what must be a dozen torches gleams from its base and more light shines through arrow slits further up. You have not reached it yet, but only the few rocky switch-backs of the road lie before you until you are there.

After reining in the wagon, the Master Mason dismounts and gathers everyone around. "Perhaps it would be best if you scouted ahead. If there are more of the dead at the tower, we would likely be more hindrance than help..."

"Not this time," Woodright says, grabbing a pick from the back of the wagon. "I'm not proud of how I acted last time and if I want to be able to look my wife and children in the face when we return to Daunton, I will not be that way again."

The Master Mason turns to the group. "Well, I guess you shall decide. Shall we all go together, shall we stay here as you scout ahead, or perhaps might we send one or two to sneak ahead and survey the situation?"

[sblock=Perception 23]Even with the distance, you can see dozens of crows sitting on the tower battlements, their eyes glinting red in the moonlight.[/sblock]

[sblock=Arcana or Religion 23]There is the stink of dark magics about, even heavier than it was when you faced the dead before...[/sblock]

This one thinks that those skilled in the ways of shadow shall scout ahead, while the rest guard these noble masons. says Kaz.

[sblock=ooc]
Checks fail.
Anyone else have good stealth? (+10 here)

"You'd be better off if you're able to look at them, in the face or not," Livia remarks rather harshly to Woodright.

To Mason, she says, "I don't know that scouting ahead will be a great deal of use. Just what are we expecting to see? The enemy has an extraordinary knack for appearing out of nowhere. And I think I see eyes on us already." She looks toward the tower battlements.

[sblock=ooc]Any possibility of recruiting another leader?
