The pair arrived to find that Eppy had fallen asleep at her desk. "Sorry, boys, I meant to close up and go home and I guess I dozed off." Suddenly sobering, she brightened. "Did you find Brigit?", she asked.

Eppy bit her lower lip as she inhaled. "Oh, dear", she said nervously, "I hope she's all right. Yes, that's a wonderful idea, oh, you're such a dear. I'd like it very much if you two walked me home. I'll get my things."

Before long, the two men were escorting the pretty secretary back to her apartment. "I wish Mr. Archer were here", she allowed as they walked. "He could find anyone. Do you think she could be with Kamdar Fatwon? Oh, I've never met him but he sure sounds like a real beast. I hope she's not there."

Devlin looks at Eppy. "As much as it pains us, we should assume the worst, that Kamdar found Brigit and took her captive in an effor to get his hands on the orb. She didn't tell you anything that might give as a clue as to where she was keeping it, did she?"

Eppy shook her head. "No, she didn't", she replied. The three walked on. "If he does have her, where do you think he is keeping her?", she asked. "I bet he doesn't have her in his hotel room...how would he ever get her past the common room?" Her face brightened. "All right, this is something Mr. Archer taught me. Either Kamdar is in the room, in which case he doesn't have her, or he isn't, in which case he might. Do you know if he checked out of his room?" She seemed to momentary forget her concern with Brigit, caught up in the notion that she might actually be contributing something useful to the case.

"Excellent idea, Eppy. You're a better detective than me. Let's get you to your apartment, we'll check on Kamdar, then head to our room. If brigit shows up at your place after we drop you off, let us know with a messenger in the morning. keep your eyes open around Brigit, though. I don't trust her.", Ryland says, obviously concerned that Eppy might get caught up in the middle of this mess.

The pair dropped Eppy off without incident, and saw that she waved from her window to let them know that all was well there.

After leaving Eppy safe at home, Devlin addresses his partner. "Eppy has a point. We should check to see if Mr. Fatwon is still in residence at the Tower."

Ryland joked that if Enialis hadn't been so sick, his horse would have certainly come in handy. Presently they arrived at the posh hostelry. As they strolled out of the damp and into the common room, they were greeted by the innkeeper who interupped their progress. "Begging yer pardon, good sirs", asked the innkeeper, "but I didn't get a clear answer when I asked if ye'd be needing the room another day. I trust ye will? Same rate."
