The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

"We will take a room for one more night. You haven't by chance seen Mr. Kamdar today have you?
"I thank ye", the innkeeper smiled, "and I hope ye find the room to yer liking. Mr. Fatwon left shortly before noon today with another gentleman, and I havent seen him since."

Ryland noted that this would have been about the time of his last memory in Kamdar's room, about the time everything went black.

Devlin nods his thanks to the innkeeper as he places his coins on the counter before heading upstairs. Once in their room he turns to Ryland. "Blast! This is not going well at all."

After pacing for a few minutes to calm his nerves and organize his mind, a small smile appears on Devlin's face. "You know, if Kamdar hasn't been back since he left us in his room, then there's a chance he left something behind. We need to get into that room and search it." Devlin heads toward the door, looking back to see if Ryland is going to accompany him.

ooc: It's late night, right? So there should be minimal traffic in the hallways, right?

OoC: With care, it's possible to time it so that the pair can spend some time in the hallway unobserved. Is this what you wish?

You get inside, I'll guard the stairs. Keep a sharp ear out.

OOC Assuming there is really only one way up, the main stairwell.

Ryland kept watch on the one stairway leading up to the second floor of the Tower while Devlin made ready to pick the lock to Kamdar's room. To his surprise, Devlin found the door unlocked, just as he had left it several hours earlier. As he opened the door enough to peer inside, he stopped to meet Ryland's eyes. Just what was going on here?

It wasn't hard for Devlin to find and light a lantern. As far as he can tell by that light, the room was exactly as he left it some hours earlier.

Devlin, reassured by Ryland's presence outside, goes over all aspects of Kamdar's room looking for anything that might give the investigator an idea of what may be happening in this case.
