The Stuff of Dreams (Orsal Judging)

OoC: Brigit is indeed a brunette. Unless only her hairdresser...naw, she's a brunette.

IC: Eppy had mentioned that Anchovy Lane was off the Street of Merchants. In a little less than a half hour, Ryland and Devlin had journeyed from the Red Dragon to the Street of Merchants and found Anchovy Lane, which somewhat predictably, was home to several purveyors of victuals, only half of which sold fish. However, upon seeking out 26 Anchovy, the pair encountered a problem...24 Anchovy was the home of a greengrocer, 28 Anchovy housed a meat market, and 26 Anchovy was a pile of rubble. when they asked around, the locals described the ramshackle abode of a fish merchant that had burned to the ground sometime in the last year.

"Keep your eyes sharp. This smells like a trap, or at least bad fish.", Ryland says, as he looks for secret doors in the rubble.

Devlin and Ryland spent a few minutes poking around in the rubble and drawing stares from passers-by. Since the building was wooden and had burned, there wasn't much rubble to go through. After a while, they determined that if the pile concealed the entrance to some criminal lair, that entrance was well-hidden, and they would need some other means to find it.

Of course, there was the possiblity that the charred remains of a ramshackle fishmonger's establishment were nothing more than charred remains.

"I think we've been chasing wild geese. We should get back to the office and check on Eppy. Maybe a stop by the Tower Inn would be in order also.", Ryland says to his companion.

Devlin sits on a piece of rubble. "I'm thinking I may just kill Brigit myself if we ever find her. And I still want to go to the docks and find out whatever we can about the Flying Lion."

"After you, fearless leader", Ryland says with a bow and flourish.

OOC: Gather info checks?

The pair made their way to the harbor, and inspected the wreck of the Flying Lion. Dockworkers were salvaging what they could from the charred hulk, which was only floating because some of its cargo had been removed. What was left protruded less than a foot above the water, and was barely recognizable as a ship.

Ryland asks around about whether any of the crew members are around. He'd like to talk to one.

After about an hour, Devlin and Ryland were able to track down a former cremember of the Flying Lion, an able-bodied seaman who said that he stood second watch before the vessel burned. His story was a simple one; once in port, he got permission to take leave, headed to the nearest tavern, and was just starting to drink himself silly when the alarm went out. He rushed back to the docks only to find that it was his vessel aflame, and he did what he could to help the fire watch. His plans for the rest of the day included drinking and making inquiries to see if any of the other sea captains were looking to round out their crew.

Does he remember the captian talking to anyone strange. He describes Jobe, Wilbur, Fatwon, and Brigit. Ryland also asks whether he remembers the Captain talking about needing to meet anyone once he arrived.
