Well, I meant more like...if we have skirmisher stands operating independently and they get in melee, they can easily be isolated by superior numbers.

Hm. Maybe I should focus on light cavalry instead of scouts and light cavalry.

I have one stand of heavy infantry and one of skirmishers. We have:
3 Bandits
1 Skirmishers
2 Scouts
1 Light Cavalry
1 Heavy Cavalry
1 Hoplites
1 Peltasts
1 Sagitarii

We have a lot of shooting, which we can use to our advantage. Not a very toe-to-toe force. I guess we can wear things down with shooting and charge in against a reduced force.

However, our opponents may use heavily armoured infantry and they can take a fair pounding. If our stuff gets caught by shooting it could be over pretty quickly for some stands.

The hoplites can anchor an area, the heavy cav can shatter anything it engages and the other stuff will have together to decimate formations.

We could use lines of attack.

1st line long range units. Start shooting as soon as possible, withdrawing steadily to second line.
2nd line short range units, shoot and fall back (skirmishers can move-attack-finish move) past 3rd line
3rd line hoplites and cav. Hold line.

What do you guys think? I think we need another heavy infantry unit to help hold that 3rd line though.

Has Trogdor said what he is taking? If we can get a couple units of Veterans that would shore up the third line. But I agree we need some more close melee units to hold the line and prevent units form getting isolated. I can modify my units. Feyson is fairly comfortable at range or in melee.

As far as Magic goes, I'd probably go with a Longbow +1 for raw power. Secondary is a Quiver of Ehlonna

We can do a Longbow, though considering we have a similarly modeled Great Sword, how about make it +1 with an extra d8 of your chosen element? Alternatively, +1 with also +1 Range (extra 20 feet / 1 square on a battlefield)
