OOC: I'm using a 1d6 to decide where to go - not clicking that damn "show" button is tough. 6 is "stay put", 1-5 goes from west/south/east. Result: 2

L.L. will first make a listen check, in the faint hope of picking up a directional cue. Assuming that fails, he'll take a 5' step to 105n 35e and ready the same action as before.

OOC2: is this thing a magic-missile at will critter?
(don't tell me until afterwards, best not to affect my decisions)

OOC3: Can you ready a charge as a Std action?

Edit: OOC3

It's arguable, but I think you'd find a consensus as No. A charge is a full-round action and at the point you take the ready action, you are not restricted to only standard actions and thus you cannot ready a restricted charge. This is regardless of whether you consider a character to be restricted to standard actions when readying because it means you can't ready that action in the first place.

Edit: As an aside, I allow it because I find it odd that you could ready a restricted charge if you were slowed. You should not get what amounts to a benefit for having a harmful effect on you.

OOC: No readied charges.

Round 6: Gelharin pops up at 100N40E. L.L. attempts to grapple with his tentacle, but Gelharin dodges out of the way. (Rolled 15 touch attack)

Gelharin concentrates defensively (rolled 20) and fires two force globes at L.L. The globes pound him for 8 points of damage. (Rolled 12 SR check) L.L. has 1 hp left.

Gelharin pops back down and establishes cover under the ground before L.L. can take an AoO.

L.L. Goon goes first in round 7.

L.L., now knowing he's overmatched, listens again in case it helps. Assuming not, step to 100n 40e and ready to grapple again as a last resort.

Gelharin, like some underground submarine, tunnels and prepares to make his next move.

Same frustrating tactics as before.
this round: double MEA to 100N50E-5Z
next round: pop up, fire magic missiles, pop down.
If there's someone in an adjacent position when he pops up, cast defensively

Round 8: Gelharin pops up at 100N50E. L.L. Goon's tentacle bounces off an invisible barrier surrounding Gelharin (rolled 16 touch).

Gelharin is too busy thanking his lucky stars to concentrate (rolled 13). He pops back down into the ground.

L.L. Goon goes first in round 9.

L.L. is getting tired of whack-a-mole. He's also somewhat fatigued by the holes in his slimey frame.
He makes a listen check, then barring better info, steps to 100n 50e and readies again to wrap-the-mole.
