They could have avoided the storyline entirely, just left him as a baby (however you wanted to explain it).

Vampires' having a baby is utterly ridiculous to begin with so they should have never even had Darla get pregnant

Not to mention vampires having a soul. What a lame --- no, wait. Actually, if you do it right, it's a very interesting idea.

I'm willing to give Joss (and the other series creator) the benefit of the doubt on this whole Conner thing until we see what he has planned for Conner. My hunch is that he's got interesting plans for him, and he wasn't just introduced as some character without any long-term plans.

I personally like the whole Conner thing. It gives Angel and consistant strand to have throughout the season. Angel has lacked a continuing theme (for the most part). I am a big fan of the new fight scenes. they are much more raw than the fights in Buffy. I get bothered how inconsistant SMG power is in that show.

I don't know why I care. Soon they will mix reruns with the new shows and I will get frustrated, make other plans on that night and stop watching the show. It happens every season. A few years ago NYPD Blue started later in the season and ran only new episodes, no reruns during the winter season. It was the only year I enjoyed the show. I knew every Tuesday night at 9, I was going to watch that show. I wish more shows did that.

Nightfall, don't get me wrong. I am still watching Angel this season. I am interested in what they are going to do with it tomorrow night. I just think that the season started out fairly strong and is tapering off quickly. Jury is still out.

Buffy, well, first, it is at a bad time for my wife and I to watch. We prefer shows like that after our kids are in bed. Tuesdays are also simply bad nights. Once you have kids it seems like a number of nights are "bad." I miss some shows on Wed. nights that I might normally watch due to a special karate class that I like to attend. Karate (for me) wins out over any TV program. We used to tape shows we missed, but my wife and I find we never have time to actually watch them.

Buffy has been falling off the radar lately. Not saying I don't like it, I just like Angel more. I also feel that I can see the reruns eventually and am not all that concerned about missing them.

Firefox has been pretty enjoyable lately. I am looking forward to the next Stargate SG-1 season and still wondering what will happen with Farscape.

Man, get me tired as hell and I do tend to ramble ...

This week's Angel was fairly mediocre for the most part. It was nice to see more of a spotlight on Fred, but the story wasn't all that engaging to me.

But I liked the ending. You gotta love an ending with guts. The hero (Gunn) is placed in a difficult situation, and they don't wimp out with a deus ex machina. I didn't see that coming.

I assume this is going to place a strain on Charles' & Fred's relationship.

Maybe in the Buffyverse, but even there they start out as humans who do have a soul so it's not much of a stretch.

Of course characters dying and coming back repeatedly may be the biggest sin.

Of course they do, I still think it's an idiotic storyline, though.

Well tonight's espidose CERTAINLY didn't go where I expected it to. For starters I feel bad for Fred. I actually THOUGHT her theory made sense...(if your a Sci-fi buff. :) ) But now there's this thing between her and Gunn, and I'm sure it going to come between them soon. (But I like it since this relationship NEVER made that much sense to me.) It also looks like Wes is getting out from under Liliah (FINALLY!) *just realized what a double entrendre THAT was...* In any case, between that and the only slightly passionate kiss then break way Cordy...well I guess she's ready.

But next week teaser has be sincerely bugged. I mean WHY are they messing around with spells and WHY is Wesley back in the hotel?!

Actually, I didn't see Gunn as the hero in this episode - neither one was the "hero," literally. Fred made a very dark, dark choice this episode. She didn't back down - she really didn't - but then, neither did Gunn. He would rather have been the killer of the professor that have Fred have been the killer. As for placing strain - darend straight. You don't walk away from murder, self-defense or no, and feel the same.

I loved the Fred-centricity of the episode. as I find the change (made over last season to now)from "Sweet and Crazy Fred" to "Scary, Scary little woman" Fred quite engaging. Amy Acker, however, hasn't quite managed to find her voice to carry it off. While she was totally believeable in the "Professor must DIE" scene, she really fell short with the "You know what they say about Payback" line. Acker seems to me better at heartfelt impassioned scenes than clever witticisms. You can have the best screenwirters in the world writing for you (Mutant Enemy), but the delivery is 75% of the equation.

How about the deadpan bombshell Angel just got levelled? Right after Cordy's "don't bull**** me" line, she asks him the most loaded question in the series: "Are we in love?" The Inner Sap in me says, "Tell her the truth, you lanky undead dope!" However, knowing Mutant Enemy, I'm sure he'll screw it up.

"'Cause I'm an idiot... UH!....and I'm your boyfriend - yes I am..."
