If Erlai had eyebrows, they would be arched in surprise at this latest outburst from the usually soft-spoken, if awkward and ill-mannered, Finnian.
 

[sblock=ooc] does that mean I also get 1d6 for the crit damage? And, as a sorcerer, funky stuff happens when I crit... Ok, I slide Olivia one square (back from me) and knock her prone. Also, as it's a 20, that gives me a +1 bonus to hit next turn. Also, as I'm a wild mage, I get my dex mod as a bonus on damage on all my sorcerer attacks! Wow, I wish I'd been paying attention to all this stuff this whole time!

Crit die roll: 1d6=2 woo! and I guess +3 on top of that, for being a wild mage?

[sblock=OOC]Actually, the reason your damage for that attack is 2d6+7 is because you've already got your Dex mod added to the damage. +4 for Cha, +3 for Dex. Same for all your other powers that get +7 damage.

However, you're also missing the +1 to attack and damage from the magic dagger. By my count that should give you a total of 22 damage on your crit.[/sblock]
 

Vaunea retrieves her weapon, crawls to the side, and recovers.

Emral rushes the door, inserts his dagger, and fires his spell--taking Olivia directly in the face. (22 damage) Through the door, you hear a thump and warbling screams.

The entire mob goes silent, mouths open in shock. Some members look at one another with obvious discomfort.

"Quicken me!" you hear the wizard shout from the other side of the door.

"Certainly," says the voice in your head, "But I think this course of action unlikely to provide results. Obviously, your opponents would not be so foolish as to remain directly in front of the door after delivering such an attack. It's a good thing that they don't know this door is HELD CLOSED BY A SIMPLE LATCH, easily broken dow--"

"SHUT THE ***** UP, DAVE!"

Of a sudden, the door opens. The wizard stands there, face twisted into a homicidal snarl. "YOU THINK YOU'RE ***** CLEVER, HUH, EMRAL?! THINK YOU'RE ***** CLEVER?! THAT'S MY WIFE WHOSE FACE YOU JUST ***** MELTED, YOU *****!"

The wizard's robe unleashes a swirling miasma of light and color. (Standard Action: Daily Power of Robe of Scintillation -- v. Will (1d20+6=11 (Uncle Mikey), 1d20+6=18 (Finnian), 1d20+6=17 (Emral), 1d20+6=20 (Erlai), 1d20+6=15 (Vaunea)) -- EVERYONE is dazed! (save ends))

The wizard shoves his wand into Emral's face. As the force of a magical spell builds, Emral and Finnian strike to ward off the attack. (Opportunity Attack: Finnian - v. AC (1d20+7=25, 1d10+4=14); Emral - v. AC (1d20+5=25, 1d4+2=5). Finnian hits for 14 damage. Emral gets a CRITICAL HIT with 5 bonus points of damage, for a total of 11 points.) The devastating blows cause the wizard to reel. Roger falls onto his back. As he drops, he fires a magic missile at Emral. (Bonus Basic Attack (from Dave, Spirit of War): v. Reflex (1d20+8-2=10, 2d4+5=12)) The energy bolt misses, blasting a chunk from the ceiling. With a groan of agony, Roger kicks the door shut.

Vaunea looks over at Finnian, as the world around her seems to slow a little. She whispers "Break door" as quietly as she can, and grips her axe tightly in anticipation for the coming charge.

Finnian reaches over and opens the door. His head still spinning, he looks at his companions and takes in the strange glances from the bystanders and onlookers outside on the street.

Did I say something? Why is that little kid crying? I was just telling him that I don't like to use strong language...

Man, my head hurts.
 

[sblock=Hold Action?]I was wondering if I could hold my action until Vaunea's turn when she is ready to move through Emral's space and through the door. In other words, can Finnian put his hand on the handle and ready the action to swing it open, but wait until after Olivia takes her turn?

Also, what I *really* want to do is spend my second wind, so if Vaunea can open the door some other way and still move through to attack, I do that.[/sblock]
