TURTLEDOME!: Battle Bone (DM: KenHood, Judge: Lord S.)

It doesn't really matter. Erlai can only perform actions if you direct him to do so (by spending your actions). Once you cease to be dazed, Erlai ceases as well.

Emral reaches up from his spot having ducked below the hole, sticks his dagger through, and dumps a blast of fire through to the other side.

[sblock=ooc] Burning Spray: +4 vs Reflex; should I add +1 for the dagger?

1d20+4=7, 1d8+7=12, 1d20+4=23, 1d8+7=14
It's a blast 3, so if they're both in there (and I believe they are) they should both be nailed... well, the first one is Olivia, the second one is Roger. I think I should only have done the one damage roll, so I think it's 12 damage for Roger rather than 14 (oh well).

Lord Sess: before I forget: thanks for the update re: damage. I forget really easily.
also, I need to swap the Emral sheet on the approved list with the one on my signature. (wizard for sorcerer)

Everyone: just a heads up, on October 23rd I'm getting married, and then I'm going on a cruise for a week until Nov. 1st. I believe the policy is to assume that Emral gets all the treasure and xp, and winds up with numerous buxom fans wanting his autograph; at least until I get back, when that all stops. Woo--ahem. So I'm still around for two more weeks (just under), but then I'll be off. So no combat until I get back! :D

Behind the door, you hear a man scream in agony, followed by a woman screaming in hysteria. "You monsters! You *****! You killed him! You killed my husband!"

Woman! Surrender now. We can spare you, and perhaps your husband can still be resuscitated. You kidnapped our companion and threatened our friends and we will show no mercy if you continue to fight. If you fight, you join your husband in death. If you surrender, there is a chance to live.

Intimidate (1d20+1=13)

[sblock=Saving Throw]Saving Throw (1d20=13)
I'm not sure if I get any bonuses to save vs. dazed, but there is the raw roll.

The Intimidate wasn't great, but perhaps the husband can be saved? Can NPC's be brought back from the brink of perma-death like player characters? Ah well, I thought it was worth a shot with my one action.[/sblock]

From behind the door, you hear anguished sobs. "Okay," says Olivia in a defeated voice, "Okay. You ***** win. Just let me leave in peace, so I can bury the only man I ever loved."

The weeping resumes.

You can hear some disturbed whispers from the people leaning through the door and windows, watching the scene.

Vaunea puts her weapon away. "Open door."

[sblock=Insight]Man, it's like we always have people lying to us. How about this time?

Insight = 13...sorry, I lost the roll, but why would I make up 13? I did use the Battle Bone campaign however.[/sblock]

Olivia shrieks something incomprehensible when Vaunea tells her to open the door. The sobbing grows louder, more mournful.

Insight Result: It seems that Olivia was telling the truth about her surrender. She's probably experiencing a mental breakdown after watching her husband die.

[sblock=Vaunea's Roll]Insight vs. Olivia (1d20+2=13)
Found it by using the search function - Campaign = "Battle Bone"

I am expecting a deception too, especially when my intimidate wasn't that high. If Olivia is surrendering, I think we should turn her over to the authorities, but be gracious about the dead. I'd still like to try a heal check on the husband if it's possible. Maybe Mikey has something that will save him.[/sblock]
