TURTLEDOME!: Battle Bone (DM: KenHood, Judge: Lord S.)

[sblock='Actions']I am rolling another Insight followed by a saving throw to see, if needed. I am assuming if the combat is over, sooner or later, I'll gain back eyesight, but if he starts up again, right away, I'd still be blinded

Insight: 1d20+2->15; Saving Throw vs. Blinded: 1d20->1[/sblock]

Vaunea still seems to be struggling with her vision. The eye gouge from the little halfling caught her completely off guard. Even so, she listens to Eustace's words carefully to determine intent.

Drivan looks at cousin Eustace intently, "He really doesn't seem like the type of halfling to give up... But then again, perhaps I misjudged him and he really is a weak, spineless old fool who is just trying to relive his failed past as an adventurer. I never thought that could be true, I thought he was a honorable halfling who would make a great ally or a feared enemy... Which one is it Eustace?"

[sblock=Insight: Do I believe him?][12,6] = (18)[/sblock]

Out of Character

Man! It is just sooooo unfortunate that Insight checks during combat happen to be minor actions, and you'll have to wait your turn to attempt them.

Heh-heh!

[sblock=ooc]Sorry it took so long. Internet and work emergencies, chaos, nonsense... and Gears of War 2, which rocks :D[/sblock]

Emral carefully steps back and away from Cousin Eustice, keeping his staff defensively between them. Seeing the halfling pummeled by the others puts a smile on his face, enough to allow him to renew his strength and initiative.

Well, let's see how you like a taste of humble pie, served extra crispy![

And with that he fires off his own magic missile. What? Hey, if I fry him for real I might nail the rest of you. It's fair. Man, I miss my Flaming Sphere...

[sblock]
1d20+4=19 Wow, one of us hit! I hope. I don't know if Hadarai's thingie works with magic missile.[/sblock]

[sblock=He says to me, he says to me...]'Baby, I'm tired of workin' for the MAN!' I says, I says, WHY DON'T YOU BLOW HIM TO BITS?[/sblock]

Round 2 (continued)...
"Bu'aesaerrend'd" whispers Cousin Eustace in surprise, as Emral's magic missile slams him back a step. The one-armed halfling reels, but he's...

Not.

Down.

Yet!

Resources Expended
Cousin Eustace - Nut-Cracker, One-Armed Kung-Fu, Eye Gouge, Second Wind, 2 AP
Emral - Flaming Sphere
Finnian - AP
Hadarai - Warlord's Favor
Vaunea - 1 Healing Surge, Goring Charge, AP
[/sblock]

[sblock=Finnian]...should really go into melee. 14 dex isn't really enough to be a good archer with average 4e defenses(generally 16+monster level).[/sblock]

[sblock=Positions?] Just to be clear, Emral took a withdraw action back for his move before the Standard action of Magic Missile.
That said, where did Eustice take his "shove back" to? Like, erm, the other half of his 5 foot step? Hadarai is on the other side from Emral, so Eustice would bump into him, right?[/sblock]

[sblock=Bad Emral!]5-feet steps were 3rd Edition. Doesn't look like the kids use those anymore. Why in my day, I remember when units of measurement looked like this " and meant something completely different indoors as opposed to outdoors. And only humans had classes. And all elves were fighters and magicians. And your weapons did different damage to creatures of different sizes.

He moved back a teensy halfling step. Not enough to enter another square.[/sblock]
