TUW: Welcome to the Jungle

Saemund does not take his injury, and the discovery of the toddler well. It has made him ill-tempered and petty. Saemund hobbles over to the nearest fallen Katalian and stands over her with one of his carving axes in hand, knuckles white with rage. His other hand clutches his wound, protecting it. At first glance he looks to be examining her, but the violence in his eyes belies the serenity on his face. He looks around at his friends and asks flatly, ...Is there any good reason we should let them live?

Vadin replies to Saemund, "I cannot think of one good reason to let these monsters live." He pulls out his sword and walks over to the male, and awaits other relplies.

Merin's eyes narrow with resolve. "Neither can I. End them, now. But do it with compassion and speed. Do not cause them to suffer; it will only harden YOUR heart to do otherwise."

Tor nods in agreement. "If I could walk, I would do it myself. Kill them all, and do it quickly."

Saemund nods, three responses is all he needs. He would use his battle axe but his injury would keep him from using it accurately. In one quick motion he slits the throat of the injured female with his carving axe. It is not evident at first glance but if someone were to examine the cut they would notice that his anger caused him to nearly decapitate the woman. He cleans his axe on her clothing and leaves her to bleed out. As he turns and shuffles away he mutters. They are not deserving of a proper burial, let the wild dogs and bugs have them. Saemund finds a comfortable place to rest so that his wound will heal more quickly.

Vadin follows suit, he puts his sword away and pulls out his knife. He then slits the man's throat where he lay, and walks away. He cleans his blade and makes his way back to the child to begin preparing a new fire.

San-Bolo make no objections to putting down the Katalians. After helping to make camp, search the area, and allowing everyone to wake from their healing rest, Sannit says to the group, "These were skilled hunters. If Bolo and I had not increased our speed and strength with Way we might have received more grievous wounds. Whenever we know we are about to be in a fight, we should all enhance ourselves with Way to give us any edge we can."

While the others heal Bolo takes Turtle to search for medicinal herbs.

Vadin then goes back to the campsite and carefully removes the spit from the fire, and the child from the spit.
GM: Despite that the Shimadow are most often hostile when encountered, no being should be subjected to such indignity as the cookfire of a cannibal. Vadin rectifies the desecration.

Day 228: Saemund

Saemund nods, three responses is all he needs... He finds a comfortable place to rest so that his wound will heal more quickly.
GM: No one feels the least remorse at the elimination of such sick monsters of men. After Saemund situates himself to rest from his injuries, his friends insist on tending to his wound. Even with his justified foul mood, his friends could not see allowing any possibility of such a grievous wound to fester.

As she moves through the jungle Bolo practices moving silently through the foliage. She says to Indigo, "I wonder if I could mash these toxic leaves into a paste or render out the poison to coat our arrows. It might be useful to utilize these at range."

After Sannit is healed he will lead a search for minerals and metals. He says, "I sometimes wonder if we can find a unknown or rare mineral hiding right under our feet."

Turtle finds something to munch on. Bear necessities and all that.
