Two Weapon Fighter's minor action to draw or sheath

fissionessence

So it looks like RAW it'd take two minor actions to pull two weapons . . . which kind of sucks for a two weapon fighter. Are there any errata or 'clarifications' of which I'm unaware that allow a character to pull two weapons simultaneously?

Failing that, how strict are you with enforcing economy of actions when it comes to drawing and sheathing weapons?

It would take 2 actions.

My group (6 people, 3 or so games) play by the rules as they are- you spend actions as described. However in most situations where combat is likely you have weapons drawn.

This is also an issue for the ranger. I think you just take quickdraw to make things better. Doesn't totally work for a fighter, because it only allows you to draw the weapon you use in the attack. Would still allow you to draw one as a minor, and the other for free as you attack.

Quick draw feat lets you draw any number of weapons/items as part of the action that you use them & it's +2 initiative too. This is mostly good for 2 weapon fighters & for using potions, but it is pretty useful.

Hardly any DMs, except me, seem to pay much attention to the "economy of actions" beyond power use, which I think is partly ignorance & partly not wanting to seem overly pernickity. I of course like to point these things out as a player but that does come across as a bit arsey so I do not do it all the time.;)

If we didn't stick to the permitted type and number of actions, then we'd have one player who would take 4 minors every round in addition to his standard and move.

This sort of thing has to be considered when making up the character. Minor to draw the first weapon. Sacrifice move action for a minor in order to draw the second weapon. Use the standard to charge and make the attack. Build the character to do additional damage dice when charging (there are plenty of ways to do so).

... or just take quick draw.

On the other hand, he does striker level damage while still being a defender as well, which kind of sucks for all the strikers. And that problem isn't fixed simply by taking quickdraw...

Well I just meant anyone who fights with two weapons, and would potentially make use of the Two Weapon Fighting feat. I didn't specifically mean a fighter :)

But yeah, I agree with everyone else here; I just wanted to see what people thought.
