D&D 5E Undead Apocalypse!

Moving on!

The group has boarded the boat, those who can help do, and you have been given a wagon and one mule to pull it, which are now below deck.

As you take off, you head to from the harbor, and see a wall of mist in front of you, surrounding the Waterdeep harbor. Right where the Wards would be.

"It'll take four hours ta get to the spot where I can stop and let ye out," the Captain says. "That's four hours where we could get attacked. Keep yer eyes open. Not that ye e'er see 'me 'afore they attack! Ha!"

OOC: What are y'all doing on the ship during the journey?

It takes some wrangling to get Galahad aboard. And then once aboard he ends up finding himself in somebody's way more often than not. Not that he's resistant or 'trying' to be obnoxious. Just that he is rediculously curious about the whole thing and seems to be taking notes, mental or written constantly. Eventually, he finds a place out of the way to observe and even manages to help out once or twice from sheer curiosity. (Asking questions about a loose line or a something that had been forgotten.)

As they approach the fog his mentality changes a bit he studies the fog intently, trying to think of a way to see past it. "I could try using a light spell to maybe give us a bit of warning. But then, it might draw them to us instead..."

The Captain smiles, "Aye, ye could shed a bit o' light. Or ye could just blind us all instead. Ye'd get about the same effect. Light makes the mists harder ta see through."

Bunny suddenly screams at the top of her lungs, "MEEEFY!!"

There's a poomf above her head, and a black raven that's almost too big to perch on her shoulder appears. It caws and lands on the ship's gunwale.

She gestures irritably. "Go fly around the boat. Keep watch. Let us know if you find anything moving towards us."

The bird shifts from foot to foot, then spreads its wings and launches into the mist.

"There. Sail now."

Galahad nids to the captain and decides to skip the light show. Instead he moves to the bow of the vessel and begins quietly praying to Oghma for guidance as he watches and listens for any sign of anything suspicious.

OOC: Casting guidance as necessary while doing his best to stay alert for an attack. Passive Perception 17.

Fulgrim stares into the mist. It stood between him and the food that would give everyone a chance. His eyes flick back towards the shore. The thieves guild did not take his warning. He would need to deal with rhem sooner or later. He grips his weapon.

"Captain, I can assist in anyway you need. I have little experience but I am strong."

The captain casts off, and the ship begins to sail away, much to the awe of the people on the dock. Nobody has left the dock in recent times and lived to tell the tale.

The Captain seems oblivious to this, happy with his rum, which he takes a swig of every now and then.

The ship rides on through the mists, unable to see far around them. The mists swirl and spin, many times appearing to be something solid, only to show itself as simply more mists.

Galahad is the first to notice that one of the darker swirls wasn't dissipating. The mists randomly swirled in such a way that it was clear for a moment, and Galahad saw the bow of a ship not fifty feet from them.

"Ship!" Called one of the Captain's crew, on the crows nest, "On the port side!"

For a moment, Galahad thought he was referring to the ship he had just seen, until he remembered he was on the Starboard side. He turned around and saw another ship come into view...on the other side.

It would seem you have been found.
