My group just came up with a useful purpose for the bag of tricks. The dwarf monk just got turned into an intelligent undead that needs to feed each night. Hmmm, how to keep him from sucking on his fellow PCs when the urge overwhelms him? Reach in bag, pull out ball of fur, *pop*, snack.

unfortunately by RAW the critter disappears once destroyed/killed so doesn't count as food. :heh:

So you just have to find a way to eat part of the animal while... and this is awful... keeping the animal alive.

nonono, the ultimate use for a bag of tricks is trap detection.

rogue: I think there's a trap down this hall.
bard: I'll check (throws a furry ball down the hall and watches the squirrel get fried by lightning bolt)

Our group uses three of the cheapest Bag of Tricks as a source of "Frenzied Berserker Target Practice". Cheap solution which keeps the FB off of the rest of the party until his Frenzy runs out, or under the wizard can hold him.

Wizard with craft wondrous item in my campaign used one as material component to make a familiar pouch.
