Using Shade Twin in combat

Hi guys

Does anyone know what the rules are around this power if it's used in combat, especially considering a Warlock can have concealment a lot of the time. I'm thinking specifically about the part of the power that states "Creatures that observe you are aware that you have done so".

What constitues "observing" and would concealment affect that?
Would creature facing play a part?
Would a tricked creature forgo targetting the Warlock if it hadn't seen the power used (based on intelligence probably)?

Seems to me that there are a lot of potential uses to the power that trigger if the Warlock is not "observed".

Anyone come across this issue???

Cheers

AFIAK you would need at least total concealment to not be observed in combat (though it is possible you would need to actually be hidden as well).

Monster facing is a non-issue. In combat all combatants are assumed to be looking all around them.

Concealment makes you harder to see clearly, it has no effect on "being observed". That is a matter of total concealment (such as Invis) and LOS (Line Of Sight) issues.

Observe unfortunately isn't a real game term and Nichwee I think has the right take on it. You need total concealment from the person to avoid being observed. Facing means nothing. Adjudicating whether someone is tricked by this is kind of difficult. I think the DM simply needs to use common sense and throw the warlock a bone occasionally. The power doesn't last long and it's a daily, so I think opponents should be tricked fairly frequently.

In fact, I would say the power is very weak. Due to its very short duration, it's not possible to use outside of combat (or, rather, outside of rounds). I'm guessing no one has come across any issues because no one has ever picked this power before. :)
