Viridian Plague--Autumn's Enigma [Obscurity]

*As Obscurity moves onto the branch, it begins to shake a bit, but it is not a difficult balancing act--she can move at half speed without ever possibly falling, although possibly having to stop to catch her balance, but if she moves full speed, she has a small chance of falling.*

(OOC: Want to risk another 1? :D There's unfortunately no good place for a Web along this branch, although she does have a mirror shard, so using that would allow her to safely go half speed for a while)

Without a safety net of lower platforms, she'll elect the slower route and watch for a time to use the shard. Before setting out she looks up towards the next shard if there is one.

*There appears to be another shard after she crosses this branch and then ascends up a mossy trunk with large fungi as handholds.*

*Obscurity moves cautiously across the branch without difficulty before she reaches the first swinging log, and she easily tumbles under that. However, by then the eye catches up and fires a ray at her, which she deflects with the mirror shard. As before, the shard cracks and reflects the attack back at the eye, which is encased in ice and unable to move. She takes this opportunity to continue onward, performing a tumbling leap over the next log and stopping to catch her balance, then proceeding forward, tumbling under a pair of logs, continuing onward, and then stopping to wait as two logs swing past one above the other (so they can be neither jumped over nor tumbled under easily), moving quickly and taking a small risk that pays off as she reaches the other side before the logs swing back. She leaps and tumbles past more logs, as the eye shakes off its paralysis, and reaches the other side before the eye can finish catching up the lost ground. This puts her just near the mossy trunk with fungus handholds.*

(OOC: The fungus only grows on the one side of the trunk (unfortunately the one exposed to the eye), although if she's feeling lucky at climbing, she could try the far side without handholds. As to a Web, she could definitely use one, but it of course gets dicey when you start ascending too much because the 20' radius spread is only at most 40' high. Two Webs would definitely cover everything, or she can take her chances on the peripheries, since she's been running down those 2nd-level spells a bit)

(ooc: still got lots of 3rd and 4th level slots open to burn too).

She'll try placing the web up a bit, exposing herself for the moment (and at the top end too) and see if she can cover most of the ascent with one web.

(OOC: Sure, since the eye hasn't quite caught up yet, the bottom part might be okay unless she flubs some checks--top could be tricky though, so maybe err towards the top a bit instead of exact middle on the Web? Also, accelerated climbing (which yields half speed) or normal climbing (1/4 speed)?)

*Obscurity climbs slowly but steadily towards the top, as the eye catches up quickly, firing a shot at her before she is covered by the Web. It hits, and this time she is unable to stave off the cold, frozen in place temporarily. After pausing to recover, the eye fires again, and fortunately Obscurity staves off that attack better, unfreezing afterwards before another shot can fire, but still slowed. She barely manages to make it into the safety of the Web by climbing at a more rapid pace, after which she is safe to take a breather and consider her options, the eye following at all times but unable to fire due to the Web.*

(OOC: Obscurity takes 8 Damage and is frozen in place.
Obscurity takes 7 more Damage and is slowed)

Obscurity pauses as she reaches the safety of the web. Stupid stupid stupid! she chastises herself. Lets not try that again or you're likely to get yourself killed girl. She'll start ascending again right away letting her muscles work out the slowness. When she gets closer to the top she'll evaluate how much room she has between the top of the web and the platform above.
