So...................... can I starve?

No. By effect it would be something like breathing some gas, or eating bad clams.

At least that's how I read it.

Should be worded in the sense that it doesn't make you immune to any attacks (and I believe it was described that way somewhere). I.e., you can be strangled.

And if someone tricked him into drinking a vial of poison he would be affected by it.

Also, if there were a prayer, perhaps "Wasting Famine", that descrbed the effect as "You begin starving at horrific speed. You suffer a -2 penalty to all actions (save ends). First failed save, you fall unconsious. Second failed save, you are dying."

Then the warforged would not be immune to this just because he doesn't eat. The magic would afflict the appropriate wasting on his construct system to draw his life from him.
