Weapon Finesse and Two-Weapon Fighting

I expect that this has been asked and answered before, but, as I can't seem to find it (and I don't have access to the search feature), I'm going to ask again.

Can one use the Weapon Finesse Feat to effect weapons that are being dual-wielded? I'm having a difficult time reconciling some numbers that I'm getting from a character-creation program and the numbers that I'm calculating by hand.

Thanks!

On the surface I don't see why not. Note that the list for Weapon Finesse is quite small. If you could give us your examples for how you are applying the feat a more complete answer could be given.

*Took out a part that didn't apply the question...boy I need some sleep! :D *

Yes. Note however, that if you are dual-wielding rapiers, that the rapier is not a light weapon even though it is finessable, and so does not get the penalty reduction for wielding a light weapon in the off hand.

Spiked Chain anyone? :)

The character in question is a L5 ranger, 19 dex, 12 str, dual wielding a masterwork dagger in primary and a +2 dagger in off-hand.

When wielding the +2 dagger solo with a shield, the attack bonus is 11. According to my book, dual-wielding should reduce that by 2 points to 9 and, since the primary weapon is a masterwork dagger, it should reduce that by 3 points (-2 for not a +2 dagger, +1 for masterwork, -2 for dual-wielding).

This should give me 8 and 9 attack bonuses, for primary and secondary weapons, theoretically. According to my character creation program (Redblade), I should get only 6 and 3. Which is correct and why?

Let me know if there is any additional information you're going to need.

Dual-wielding Small Spiked Chains for a Medium character?

Oh wait, Weapon Finesse only applies to weapons of your size category.

Dual-wielding Monkey-Gripped Spiked Chains?

Also, for double weapons, does Weapon Finesse apply to the 2nd head?

Okay...

BAB: +5
Dex: +4
Enhancement: +2

TOTAL: +11

Also, I'm assuming you have a shield with a 0 Armor Check Penalty? You're supposed to apply that when using Weapon Finesse.

So, if you use the MW dagger in your primary hand:

BAB: +5
Dex: +4
Enhancement: +1

TOTAL: +10

If you dual wield, then:

BAB: +5
Dex: +4
Enhancement: +1
DW Penalty: -2

TOTAL: +8

Your off-hand (+2 Enhancement) is otherwise identical, so it'll be at +9.

I don't see where your math is wrong.

No, unless the double Weapon is Finesseable.

For instance, take the spiked chain. It's finesseable. A Master of Chains (3.0) can choose to wield the chain as either a reach weapon or a double weapon. If he chooses the latter, both ends get to use Weapon Finesse.

No. The 2nd head of a double weapon is treated as light for purposes of dual-wielding penalties only, and not for any other purpose (Weapon Finesse, Power Attack, etc.).

Better read the Power Attack feat again.

So would you grant the +4 Disarm bonus (for wielding a two-handed weapon) to both heads of a double weapon?
