the wife-unit and i were discussing something else entirely last night when she hits me with this one.

pointy ears, long lifespan, a certain level of detachment.

Then who are the gnomes? There have to be gnomes. Ferengi are avaricious, which is a gnomish trait to some degree. Maybe Ferengi are dwarf/gnome/kobold amalgams.

Look at the teeth, Look at the viciousness, look at their cowardice and how if you kick them they die in one shot. I believe they are kobolds.
