What class would you be?

Bard. Not a very good one, though, with higher Intelligence than Charisma and underdeveloped (for a Bard) social skills.

Sure, I read obsessively... but it's knowledge for its own sake, and to tell better stories.

You sound a lot like me. It's a tough call between wizard and bard -- high int, moderate cha, but what I like to learn is more the bardic kind of stuff than the wizardly kind of stuff.

I'd be lucky to make commoner or expert since most of my skills and abilities have no real place in a quasi medieval world. I'm reasonably well read and know some science, some German and Spanish --- I can ride a horse well enough not to fall off, but if I were ever on a horse that wanted to throw me, I'm sure the horse could. I know enough about fighting with hand to hand weapons or using martial arts to realize that I wouldn't last long at all against a trained warrior. I can shoot a gun and even sometimes hit something with it --- but that won't do me any good in a world without guns. I've done a little archery and am lucky to hit the target... need more practice with the bow and arrow. I did a semester of forging and some metalworking in college -- perhaps I could be a blacksmith's apprentice? I'm a fairly skilled artist and painter --- maybe I could be an artist and get comissions painting pictures, frescoes or heraldry on shields? I'm a skilled photographer --- again, no use in D&D world... I took care of some chickens when I was a kid --- maybe I could be a farm hand? I worked in a saloon once --- maybe I could be a bartender? I've got nice handwriting --- so maybe I could get work as a scribe --- I could even offer illuminated documents and manuscrpts since I'm good at drawing --- but since I know English, some German and a bit of Spanish (rather than Common, Elven and Celestial for instance), I wouldn't have many customers in a fantasy world.

I'm reasonably strong and my health is good so I guess STR and CON for me are about average --- probably no bonuses but no penalties either so let us say 10 for both. I'm really good with my hands and have good balance and always was really hard to hit in dodgeball --- so maybe I'll be generous and give myself a 12 or higher DEX. I'm smart enough to have earned more than one degree so my INT might be 13 or even higher --- but wisdom --- well, I've made some bad decisions in the past so maybe wisdom isn't my strong suit. I'm not at all charismatic --- I'd be lucky to get a 9 in either CHA or WIS.

Now, if I could be anything I wanted to, I'd go for Wizard or Sorceror. Why? Fireball!

Most likely Bard. Some musical ability, decent singing voice....although, many years ago, my group decided to play a modified 'come-as-you-are' campaign. We each voted on what race and class each other would be, and rolled stats as normal. They decided that I was a human paladin.

I would have to say cleric. Nothing says convenient like blind faith and kicking but for the lord!

Definitely a monk with my martial arts background. Pretty focused too.

Bard. But only in a world/campaign that allows bards to be something other than musicians or singers.

Sorcerer. I get by with my natural talent, when if I actually applied myself seriously, I could be so much more.

Probably a ranger/artificer or scout/artificer - a seriously antisocial one.
I spend quite a lot of time outdoors (rowing, walking etc.) and im always making stuff.
(admittedly my abilities at camoflage probably leave a lot to be desired.)
