I chose rock, but today's rock music sucks. Skynyrd, Bob Seger, The Doors, etc, now that's rock.

Pink Floyd, Hendrix!

But, then I like Pearl Jam, Rage, Audioslave, Chili Peppers, etc.

I voted Band, Bluegrass, Blues, Country, Dance, Jazz Orchistral, Rap, Rock, Pop, and Alternative. Some of those are much more case by case than others (read: Pop), but accurate for the most part. Some of the categories I wasn't very sure about. Women's threw me off a bit. Maybe something like Tori Amos would fit in there, but I wasn't sure. I love Tori. I want to have her babies.

Where are the choices for emo, emocore, and metal?\

I'm one of the few over thirty year old rap fans out there. And I'm proud of that damn it!

That's funny because the last few rock/emo shows I've been to (Anberlin, Receiving End of Sirens, Saosin), I've been one of the oldest people there (and I'm 29).

Well, I guess emo and emocore can go under Alternative since they're simply not one of the ones listed (although I have never heard of those types of music). And metal would go under Rock.

Blasphemy!!

Is it from germany? Does it have synths? Will it scare old ladies? Does it have military march samples? Then I probably listen to it. :p

Seriously, I mostly prefer harsher electronic music such as Hocico, Funker Vogt, Feindflug, Punto Omega. Throw in a few not-so-harsh groups such as VNV and Apoptygma and we're all set for a nice and long coding session. Caffeine for the ears!

Coming from Hawaii:

Hawaiian traditional (e.g., Keali'i Reichel)
Hawaiian contemporary (e.g., Cecilio & Kapono)
Jawaiian (e.g., Kapena, Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole)
Reggae (e.g., Bob Marley, Shaggy, Bitty McClean)
Ukulele instrumental (e.g., Jake Shimabukuro, Troy Fernandez)
Slack key guitar instrumental (e.g, Gabby Pahunui, Peter Moon)
