When did you start playing RPGs & current age poll.

I'm trying to get a handle on the current demographics of the role playing community. The poll here is based on "When did you start playing roleplaying games?" but I'm also curious whether people started RPing as teenagers/college students, took a break and are now diving back into it in their 30's (which is my pattern).

My pattern is similar, except I took a break during my thirties and started again in my forties with 3E.

I started playing just before I turned 6, and having been playing with a few breaks off and on, since then. No option on the poll for me.

You forgot the sub-teenager category.

Started somewhere in the teens. I'm 25 now.

Got started in it when I was 14 by one of my high school teachers. I'm 24 now and have basically been playing occasionally since then.

You don't have an option for those of us who started prior to our teenage years.

I started at 9. I remember because the boxed set I started with said "For Adults Ages 10 and up" and I was excited when I turned 10 to be listed as an adult!

That was 20-some-odd years ago.

Got started in 1984 by friends, playing a bastardized mishmash of basic and 1e, we thought they went to the same game. Then we switched to 1e when we figured out what we were doing. I'm going to be 30 on 5/23 btw.
