Where are you going for Thanksgiving?

This afternoon, I'll be heading up to Boston to see my Dad's side of the family for Thanksgiving. It's the one time of year that I'm guaranteed to see all of them, and I'm excited. We eat food, we celebrate Thanksgiving, Birthdays, and Hannukah, and on Black Friday we get up at 6am to go bargain hunting in Filene's Basement.

I'm making a very long drive to WV, to visit my wife who has been working down there for over a month.

You are a brave, brave person. There is no way on God's green Earth that I would go near Filene's Basement the day after Thanksgiving.

We're hosting my wife's parents (who live in the same town) and a friend of ours. My family is all in Wisconsin and we won't be seeing them this year.

On the other hand, there'll be pie, so it's all good.

It's not as good as it used to be. They used to hand out secret scratch off coupons. When you got to the register, the teller would scratch them off and you'd get anywhere from 10-40% off of your entire purchase. But alas, they have stopped the practice, and now it's just frantic normal bargain hunting.

Very busy week for us. We're heading to my fiancee's folks' house for the rest of the week tonight. We've got dinner at her Uncle's house Thursday and an engagement party for us and her brother and his fiancee Saturday. Since her brother and us are only going to be in Christmas Day this year, and his fiancee not at all, we're going to go cut down a Christmas tree and do some carolling. I do get to miss out on being with my family in a condo in Branson (no shows, just shopping and relaxing in a huge whirlpool tub), but we'll be there next year.

Anyway, it's going to be very busy.

Well, I'm on a temporary assignment in New Jersey right now, but I'll be flying back home to Richmond, VA on Wednesday. My parents are coming up, and will probably be there today so they can help my wife.

My in-laws were there last week, and flew back yesterday, but my MIL made us Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday (she's crazy like that), and she'll do it again this week for everyone back in the midwest. So, I'll get to Thanksgiving Dinners.

So, I guess to answer your question, I'm not going anywhere on Thanksgiving day.

Nowhere. I've got people coming here, though. My mother-in-law is already in town and my father-in-law arrives tonight. My sister-in-law and her family arrive later in the week. We'll have a full house.
