Nowhere. I've got people coming here, though. My mother-in-law is already in town and my father-in-law arrives tonight. My sister-in-law and her family arrive later in the week. We'll have a full house.
Wow. Don't go too nutty, JD! Just remember, "SERENITY NOW!!!" ;)

Well - The Universe and I will be celebrating with several of our friends from South Dakota that have made their way out east. It'll be a big South Dakota party with lots of food, win, and nerdery! We'll be gaming after all of the food is consumed and should make for one festive day.

The day *after* Thanksgiving, me and a horde of my girlfriends are headed out to bargain shop and hopefully eliminate a significant portion of our Christmas shopping lists... and maybe buy a few things for myself. *glares* What?! How is a girl supposed to *turn down* a free sparkly clutch from Express with any purchase?!

... and then, I'm going to come home and put up lights. =D

I'm quite excited!!

As is traditional I will be celebrating the day with a couple of College buddies who live locally. The one who hosts it lives in Arvada also, and is maybe 10 minutes away. Travel is not really a Thanksgiving tradition for me.

Food chores get divvied up for this. I will provide the stuffing and pumpkin pie. I do well at both. The stuffing is a green chile/mushroom stuffing, so generally a backup stuffing gets made by someone else for the faint of tastebud.

I will have a housefull of in-laws as well.

Even though I'm getting divorced, my wife's family has told me in no uncertain terms I'm still part of the family and as such I am expected to be there for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

So...I reckon I'm going 20 minutes from my house to my brother in law's. We're having dinner Wednesday night instead of Thursday, as the deer hunters in the family all want to leave Thursday morning to go to deer camp.

No family coming in and no friends either. So it's just the family, which is fine with me. :)

I do the cooking, so my wife gets to drink beer and watch football while I find a way to pick the lock on the shackle in the kitchen. My son will ask a million questions and I'll get frustrated around 5,000 or so but it's all good. ;)

I hope that works out for you. We had a similar situation in my family where a husband and wife were getting divorced, and the relatives that host Thanksgiving invited the husband. I felt kinda bad for him, since it had to be awkward as hell. I didn't earn myself many brownie points either I dont think as I always liked him better than his wife who I was related to, and spent the evening talking and watching sports with him instead of the rest of the crew.

Three cheers for adults who can act like adults at holiday time. :D
