I had a subscription sometime before the buyout. When the issues stopped coming I didn't think anything of it, just thought my subscription had lapsed. Then all of a sudden they started coming again, multiple issues in a short amount of time. Sometimes two issues on the same day!

I remember those days! As I recall there was a bit of a stagger before the long break, too, where the magazine skipped a month or so. I had a 3-year subscription back in the day so it was a big deal to me.

But it was great to finally get them coming regularly again when they resumed.

yeah, I remember this one. Those months before were rather worrisome... there was no word on what was happening, no clues as to just whether TSR was going to survive or not. I was actively writing for the magazines at the time, and weirdly enough, the editors were still acting as if everything was normal, answering my submission letters, working on articles I'd submitted, etc....

I was away at college at the time, and my Dragon subscription was being delivered to my home address, so I don't think I even noticed the gap or purchase of TSR by Wizards until long after.

I've been going back through that period of late. There are some good articles - Ed Greenwood is an MVP in Dragon's history, and he was still delivering in the late 90s.

I saw this letter to the editor and got a chuckle out of it - "I suspect he'll do well" is a bit of an understatement on the trajectory of Chris Perkins:
