Im confused. What part are you saying is boring?

Some may say consider my choices akin to vanilla ice cream - while it may be delicious, it is probably one of the least interesting flavors to choose. But it's still delicious.

I see now. Just like vanilla though, using it as a base flavor (at least with two of those classes) you can make some of the most interesting and complex flavors too though. Not bad choices at all imo. Its amazing what you can do with some cookie dough.

If you take the Bard and remove all spell casting, they are still an OK class, but not great class. Compare them to the rogue. The fact that they are OK then have a full casting package added on as well is incrediable.

They are OP but in that way that avoids scrutiny, as they do not pull huge damage numbers and they spread out their awesomeness amongst a few areas.

I played one as an Indiana Jones, being an expert on history and avoiding traps etc. Spell casting was for help in archeology etc.

I played a Skald who was Str based, chose spells that did not need lots of Cha, but was OK at it. Wore heavy armor (feat), had two melee attacks plus Polearm master bonus attack. He felt like a fighter who was also great at lore, oh, and was a full caster.

These guys were far from optimised, but it is damn near impossible to make a bad bard.

It's a bit weird how the Druid is lagging in this poll, I attribute that to the relative rarity of Druid players, some people just haven't seen what they can do.

I find it odd too. Wizard and druid are my two clear favorites in any campaign in equal measures. So its odd.

I picked top three, Barbarian, Paladin and Sorcerer. I’m also judging across all editions, not just 5e, but it wouldn’t really change anything either way. And of that top three, Paladin is the number one.

FTR i technically chose 3 but the 3rd slot is hard to decide on between bard, rogue, and cleric.

Gnome Wizard is my fave, despite the clear anti-gnomer slant amongst some board members.

I wanted to vote "None (They are ALL cool and great, right?!)", but while I can see positives and have fun with any of them I still have my own favorites that I enjoy playing more than others.

I voted bard, rogue, and fighter. It's based entirely on which I choose to play the most frequently. They work, and they're fun. ;-)
