This is a poll just to take a snapshot temperature of EN World on the subject of previous (ie not 5E) versions of D&D.

Assuming the group is one you know and trust, and irrespective of whether you would be GM or player, which Previous Edition would be your preference to sign up for an ongoing campaign (let's say at least a year)/?

Voted BECMI, for nostalgia and because I've never done a "proper" campaign in it, despite it being the edition I started with.
If that failed, though, I'd likely go with 3.5e/PF1 as it's most familiar, and I know it to be sustainable for a long term campaign.

I voted 1E, but honestly I'd prefer to run 1.5E, which uses the best of 1E and 2E. If I had to play/run RAW, I'd probably want to do BECMI.

I was torn on breaking down both 1E and 2E into their early/core versus later/heavily supplemented "editions." By and large across editions I think I enjoy the simplicity of just core more, but I kind of think that is from a primarily DM perspective.
