One of the responsibilities of a DM is emphasize the aspects of D&D that the players at ones table enjoy.
This. The other thing I can think about is that sometimes things will go well, and sometimes that won't be the case. You need to be able to disconnect from the bad experiences which can happen from time to time. They likely will, especially at the start of the game. If you can't accept that sometimes you won't get what you want, I don't think it's the right game for you.
The first and third of those suggestions are simple enough; but not every DM (particularly those new or new-ish to it) is up to - or has time for - the rather daunting task of the system-wide kitbash your second suggestion would require.PCs too powerful? Just throw more monsters?
Rules to gamist? Just replace them with more simulation type ones.
Dont like non human races? Just ban them! Or make the human race OP so everyone wants to be one anyway?
Then D&D isn't for them??The first and third of those suggestions are simple enough; but not every DM (particularly those new or new-ish to it) is up to - or has time for - the rather daunting task of the system-wide kitbash your second suggestion would require.
