Who still plays older versions of D&D?

What version of pre-3e D&D are you still playing?

Only one on that list that I seriously played was OD&D.

I did play a couple sessions of 2nd ed, but it was not my cuppa.

Still, I've thought recently about running a short-run OD&D RAW game, just for old time's sake. ;)

I find it depressing that some people feel the need to tout the 'superiority' (in their eyes) of 3e over earlier versions, even though the original poster made it clear that that is not the subject of this thread or poll.

Anyhow, I love the RC, and would play it anytime (though I am not at the moment).

I play in a game that has been running for 20+ years. We're using the red/blue books (and I am using the Rules Cyclopedia). I am also running two different 3.0 games with no plans on any of those game of switching to 3.5.

I have played them all and I can tell you now I have less than no desire to go back,

You need an option for "no thank you".

Umm, what part of "There is no option for "Not playing pre-3e D&D." Simply because I assume the vast majority of you aren't! I'm just curious to see how many *are*." did you not understand?

None. I'd play/run a short 1E game if all my players wanted to for nostalga, or try OD&D just to see what it was like if the opportunity presented itself, though.

Me too. I've never even seen the legendary "three book set" in person. Just pictures.

The group i'm in now play 2nd, we tried a 3e game, but the characters didn't convert very well, but i kept up touting how good 3e is, and they decided to let me run a 3e game, i prefer 3rd over 2nd, but I have fun with either, especially with our current group.

Although I am running a weekly C&C game, I occasionally take OD&D (white box, 5th printing with balrogs) off the shelf and do a one-off session. It is a lot of fun, and I would be happy to participate in a full campaign.
