A baseball bat would not be a light weapon. It would be a versatile weapon, and strength based, not finessed. A light weapon is designed for one-handed use.
 

Again that's splitting hairs pretty fine. A club is a wooden truncheon, a belaying pin, a big stick, a police night stick, and lots else as well. On the big end, you get a baseball bat, but, that's not really big enough to be a great club and nowhere near as damaging as a spear.

The system just isn't granular enough to be that specific.
 



I think instead of trying to increase the club to a d6, the better solution is to grant whatever character you're thinking needs this your blessing to sub in a mace instead. A big, wooden, knobby mace.
