Oh, incidentally.

no chicky is ever going to sidle up to you and whisper in your ear that your tactical use of fireball made her hot

So not true. Happened to me more than once!

Just wait until WotC tries to cash in on the moe phenomenon in Japan and every female character is overly shy with a unique, cute catchphrase. And then the people who always complain about D&D becoming anime will be happy because their complaints finally have merit.

D&D already became anime. Ever heard of "Lodoss War"?

I wouldn't say it's ever been stridently anti-women, but "plot-fodder damsel in distress" is the default mode, generally.
In all honesty, I have never seen a "Damsel in Distress" plot. Ever.

Anyway, have fun on your soapbox.
If you're going to be like that, then, as another ENworlder (whose name I can't recall) once said, there is a special circle of Hell reserved for those who spell "lose", "loose".

Ha! Take that!

Before anyone comments, I want you to take a look at the image below. How would you like those dudes looking back at you from the PHB in various levels of nudity?

After all, I'm willing to bet that the girls who play D&D like sexy men, as do some male gamers. ;)

Well, the second one is Conan...I'd be fine with that.

The further D&D moves away from Conan and his ilk the less I seem to like it.

So in a post about ostensibly generalizing and stereotyping, there's a whole lotta generalizing going on.

My regular female player, who has a playtest credit on every one of my books, Paula, runs an Iron Man type character in my weekly superhero game, and a giant mutant named "Babe" with a louisville slugger in my weekly Darwin's World game.

She *loves* to beat the crap out of things and is a huge fan of the tactical side of gaming.

I used Conan only because I simply COULD NOT FIND another picture of a half-naked buff guy wielding a sword that emphasized his body.

I swear, I went through so many pages of Google Image.

I'm not sure I get your point. :uhoh:
