[WOT Adventure] OOC Thread 2

I ended up with an initiative of 5. Considering my Dexterity bonus of +3, Dave must have rolled a 2. Hardly a promising start. And I was beginning to think the all powerful d20 liked me!

Hey, Ash got a 24 (I rolled a 20 for him), and Sirsei got a 20 (rolled 19). And one of the thugs got a 5.

Anyway, I think our general strategy this time around is to retreat. There's five of them and seven of us, but when you consider that we only have one fighter, that still doesn't make our odds very good.

If the thugs were Trollocs, this would be a much tougher fight by the numbers, but much easier in practice; Lila could kill one a round, or more than that if they bunched together.

I for one, would hate to see any of the PCs go evil. It would kill the fun of the game for me. [/B]

She wouldn't necessarily go evil. If it were going to be that, the black Ajah is the place to go.

Sirsei is just pissed off and she still doesn't understand why the Oaths are necessary. Until that happens, she won't agree to swear them, hence she might decide it isn't worth it to become Aes Sedai.

Enforcer and I were discussing the benefits of Warder vs. Blademaster on the Wizards board. I thought I'd mention it here. While the Blademaster can certainly do more damage than the Warder due to Parting the Silk, the Warder is much harder to hit. In the last Warder vs. Blademaster discussion on Wizards, I simulated a duel between the two, the Warder won every time because of his +5 Defense and Armor Compatibility. (+7 if you count the cloak, but he just won by a lesser margin without it) The Blademaster ends up with +3 Defense and no Armor Compatibility.

Because of those simulation results, a lot of people tried to "fix" the Blademaster, usually by overloading him with feats and abilities. I have some thoughts on the matter, but since it's come up before in this game, what do you guys think?

Blademasters

I'm not sure what to do with them myself. I really don't like Parting the Silk x times/day/level, but without it a Blademaster doesn't have much chance against a Warder. IIRC, the Warder always won in dscrank's simulations, but not by enough that a little luck could tip things in favor of the blademaster, which is about right IMO.

I haven't seen a variant Blademaster that I really liked. OTOH, I just picked up Sword & Fist. Maybe using a Duelist-based Blademaster instead of a Weapon Master-based Blademaster would work better. I'll have to check out the rules, though.

Ok this is starting to drive me crazy, the whole incomprhebsable string of letters deal just gives me a head ache. I've decoded some of the gibba gabba, and even use it on occasion since everyone but me seems to like it. My question is what on god's green earth is IIRC and OTOH, i can't puzzel those out to save my soul!
