My local retailer here in the UK was invited to a meeting of all UK WotC retailers at Hasbro HQ in the UK on Sunday 4th August 2002.
He was told that Hasbro have closed down WotC, no staff remain. The WotC brand will remain open but only to focus on their three main priorities which were quoted as 1 Magic: The Gathering, 2 Magic: The Gathering, 3 Magic: The Gathering...
Where does this leave Dungeons & Dragons ?
UKGenCon would run this year but from next year will be a European Con, probably in Amsterdam, Holland.
I can find no press releases on the Hasbro or WotC sites but trust my source.
