[YB meta] Speed Match varient: First Blood

Essentially, First Blood matches are 1-flagt speed matches, but there is a catch: In order for a move to count as a hit, it must both deal more damage than their opponent's move, and deal as much damage as their opponent's tier. Fists of Fury are counted as seperate moves.

For instance, a Tier 3 Silver Sash and a Tier 3 Gang Boss are dueling. The Yakuza's move matches their Signature Style, and they use Sneaky Trick to make it match their location, for a total of 1 (base) +1 (style) +1 (location) = 3 damage.
The Sash generates a Ruby move, and uses a Poisoned Blade power that they baught for their custom item. The Sash had fought that Yakuza before, and purchased a Mark on their weapon against them. They deal 1 (base) +1 (modifier) +1 (poisoned blade) +1 (mark) = 4 damage, higher than both the Yakuza's damage and tier.
The Sash scores a hit, and wins the fight. If the Yakuza had had an unused Dirty Trick, they could have used it, and forced the Sash to generate a new move, which probably would not include a Wealth modifier. The fight would then have continued on to the next round.

In another example, two White Belts are in a match. One generates a normal move, and the other generates a move that uses Manticore, which happens to be the Day of the fight. They deal 1 (base) +1 (day) = 2 damage, higher than both the damage and tier of their adversary. They score a hit and win the fight.

Any comments are appreciated.

A couple of comments.
Sneaky trick doesn't help Yakuza's out at all and the white belt fight would never have a winner because style of the day only help light warrior and location of fight only helps dark warriors.

Making FoF seperate attacks neuters honor fighters. Unless a modifier comes up(5% chance) and it matches one that the honor fighter gets a bonus on, you are limiting honors to 2 points a move(not counting items).

Forcing the winner to deal more damage than the opponents tier makes it nigh impossible to win vs a tier 5 or higher unless you are Gray or Kazz't. I don't know Kal's record damage in 1 round but Darkwolf's is 5(counting FoF as one hit), Gray's is 8(Yen + Yen + FoF + poison blades), Meowth's is 5 iirc, and Kazz't is famous for his 7 point wonders(With FoF).

A match like this would perhaps work if you just tried to do more damage in one round then your opponent would have done. Going for you MAX damage would make for very long speed matches.

Seems like more damage than you're opponent would be the way to go, combining FoF damage.

yeah, Whitebelts that don't have a grossly disproportionate amount of Yen wouldn't be able to do it, which is indeed a problem. How ever, I loosely based it off of Iajutsu, which is supposed to be a pinacle of swordsmanship-ish thing.

Can we please make it clear that this type of thing needs to be agreed on by both players? Lights always lose insults and given their lack of stacking at will powers (ie None, Holy Day and Mastery being practically mutually exclusive), these matches are basically free victories for the other guy. Yakuza (and low tier sash) have a similar problem but at least they have to lose the insults first.

I think this, like a style match, would certainly be the sort of thing both fighters would want to agree to before the fight began.
