Your First Character? (with crunch)

Yes this has been done before, but there has been some new crunch/info released since then so i thought I would put this question up again.

Basically, what will your first 4E character be? And this time, try to put in as much 4E crunch as you can think. I'll start us off:

My first pc will probably be a Tiefling paladin of Tiamat. His attributes will be focused on STR and CHA, with a moderate focus on Wis and INT, anda minor focus in Dex. Dump stat will be CON.

Skills:
Persuasion/Diplomacy
Concentration
Knowledge [Ancient civilizations (Bael Turath)]
Knowledge [Ancient Lore]
Athletics
Acrobatics

Feats/:

tiefling Racial Feat/power
Power Attack (free feat all pc's get)
Melee Defence * (Second level feat)
Rapid Strike or Mighty Blow (third level feat)
Whirlwind Attack (fourth level)

Powers:
Defensive Smite (level 1)
Some sort of cool offensive power 3rd level(say flaming sword of vengeance or something :) )

*Melee defence is the renamed combat expertise in SAGA. I will take this so I can take whirlwind attack by 4th level. In SAGA classes get feats every even level, I'm assuming this rule stay's in. Everyone also gets the standard feats at level 1,3,6 etc.

Background: this character will be striving to restore the glory of Bael Turath and unite the Tieflings under one banner. He has a hatred of Dragonborn paladins of bahamut, and will probably attack one on sight. Otherwise, while he is a broody fellow he is dependable, capable and good to have around when times get tough. He is also chivalrous and a gentleman, most of the time.

I will probably run a human wizard (no faster way to learn a system than to learn the magic system first). Then I'm gonna ROLL my stats and work from there.

I am thinking a fighter of sorts - perhaps sword and board. I am really curious to see all of the fightery goodness that is available.

I am not sure about race yet. We will have to see how the races pan out. Perhaps a halflling if their small size doesn't completely nerf their melee combat viability seeming as the ranged specialization seems to relegated to the striker role..

I will be very suprised if that jives well with serving Tiamat, but I guess it could happen.

For myself, I will probably go with a human or tiefling warlock, maybe with bits of wizard thrown in, with Dex as a dump stat if that will be mechanically feasible.
Motivation depends on setting, but I'm going to go with the classical "sold his soul for the greater good" story. To differentiate him from the standard fare, I will probably make him rather social and polite, but of course untrusting. Of course there need to be two or three unique twists to make that interesting, but I have nothing specific in mind yet. It might take quite a while before I participate in a 4E round as a player anyway.

Actually, having looked thru Worlds & Monsters last nite, I had an idea for what could very well be my first 4th Ed character. Similiar to the OP's, would be a Tiefling Paladin -- but in service to the Raven Queen. Sworn to send restless spirits and especially servants of Orcus to a final rest, he'd be a relentless foe of the undead. While not having a deathwish himself, he'd have no fear of it, and even comment that there may come a time when he'd look forward to what he would call "The Queen's Embrace."

Well I can pretty safely say that my first PC I get to play (which wouldn't be for a while, I suspect as I tend to GM), would be a Tiefling. I liked them in previous version, and I quite like this one, though if they're all fire-truck red I will be a little upset.

Other than that, I expect Warlord would be the class for me. Probably multiclassing with something of interest at some point.

Almost certainly "Unaligned" to start with too.

Where is this from? Is it confirmed?

They will probably have some version of power attack I am sure. And if you read it the way I read it, I don't think the OP meant that everyone gets power attack for free... I think he meant that the free 1st level feat that everyone gets (like in 3E) will be used to pick up Power Attack.

What rigamortus said. :) The free feat at first level will be used to select powAh!! attack! :D

CON will be a dump stat simply because I want to focus on the other stats; I want a moderate INT because I want the character to be smart and broody, not crude and dumb. And have a higher number of skillz.

@Stormtalon: Your idea is SEXY!!I like the way you think; for even more coolness go for an Eladrin Paladin of the Ravenqueen. Myabe try to select a power/spell that allows you to summon a flock of ravens (like the summon swarm spell in 3e) by multiclassing or a training feat (if its possible).

Hmmm, Eladrin might work better than Tiefling for sure, though there'd need to be some reason for him to try to shift his focus from the Feywild to the Shadowfell. I like the flock of ravens idea as well; he'll probably pick up some wizard abilities related to cold and freezing so as to better emulate some of her peripheral focus (W&M refers to her having ice and frost in her portfolio, and that she lives in a "Castle of Black Ice" deep within the Shadowfell).

It also makes quite clear that she's neither good nor evil, but decidedly remote, cold and in some ways unknowable. If he were to survive into the Epic levels, I'd have him angling along an Epic Destiny that would end up with him achieving the title of "Consort of the Raven Queen," even if it meant that he'd have to find some way to purge his own name from the history of the world.
