EN5ider #278 - Top Shelf Spell Components

Today's issue of EN5ider takes a good hard look at one of the fundamental aspects of spellcasting and considers one way to make it more engaging: better spell components! Frequent contributor Andrew Engelbrite has over two dozen suggestions on reagents that will bring the magic back to your D&D 5E table in an article that is hard to put down once you've started reading it.
One of the biggest surprises at D&D Live 2019: The Descent was the announcement of the D&D Essentials Kit. The D&D Starter Set has already been around several years so it was surprising that that Wizards of the Coast would make another set for new players. It seemed even more odd once they explained that the Essentials Kit was not replacing the Starter Set.

Paizo Update: The Latest on Tyrant's Grasp, Dawn of Flame, and Age of Ashes Adventure Paths...Plus P

Hello again my Paizo lovelies, it’s yet another edition of the PAIZO NEWS UPDATE! Last time around we covered the coming of Pathfinder Second Edition. This time we have a radio-voice-heavy edition where we get to take a crack at all the fun and adventure still left in First Edition, as well as what quests await us in the misty lands of future editions. Let’s get cracking!
The Mythological Figures treatments made using A Touch More Class have now included Sherlock Holmes (the savant), Nikola Tesla (the tinkerer), and Billy the Kidd (the gunfighter) but with the Kickstarter now underway (and crushing stretch goals! Over $42,000 in less than a week!!) we're going for someone really, REALLY big. The biggest in the country of bigness. A myth most certainly far too large to be contained in my poor-minstrelesque rambling prologue: Paul Bunyan!

[Chaosium] Chaosium Board Of Directors Meets For The First Time Since Greg Stafford's Passing

Last week Chaosium Inc held its first board meeting since Greg Stafford died in October 2018. Greg Stafford and Sandy Petersen returned to an active role at Chaosium ("The Return of the Great Old Ones") in early 2015, both serving on the company board.
Wizards of the Coast's collaboration with Penny Arcade to create a Dungeons & Dragons supplement featuring Acquisitions Incorporated has been 10 years in the making (sort of) – the original Acquisitions Incorporated podcast debuted in 2009. It should definitely please fans of AI and draw in those new to AI. In case you don't know, Acquisitions Incorporated, which has expanded to streaming...

Origins Report: Huge, Friendly...and Penguins

So, having got back from the Origins Game Fair, I thought it seemed a good idea to share some of my experiences there while I'm getting over jet lag. However, this is not an article about new releases or recent gaming news. That sort of thing is already excellently covered by the marvelous Egg Embry and the EN team. So instead I spent some of the con making a note of anything interesting I came across. So this is something of a very personal ramble of stuff I found interesting. All of the following can be found online with a quick google, I urge you to give them a closer look.
ICv2 has a gallery of miniatures from Descent into Avernus, as well as the upcoming DM Screen. The minis include Zariel, Mad Maggie, Sylvira Savikas, Mahadi (a Rakshasa), Thavius Kreeg, Little Lulu and Slobberchop, Lucille, as well as Joe Manganiello's character, Arkhan the Cruel.
Hello everyone, Darryl here with this week’s gaming news! More release details for Pathfinder 2nd Edition, a story didn’t happen involving Dungeons & Dragons (but I’ll explain why it’s worth mentioning why it’s not a story), a big expansion to BattleTech on its way, and more!
This September, Nightfall Games will be launching a Kickstarter for the 2nd Edition of the 1993 British RPG SLA Industries, where the titular corporation rules over a dystopian world.

Podcast #53: A Touch More Class with Mike Myler

This week, Morrus and Peter are joined by Mike Myler, editor for EN5ider, to talk about the new EN Publishing Kickstarter, A Touch More Class featuring nine new player character classes for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition! In the news, how hard is it to conjure a frog, what’s the most popular D&D alignment for 5e, Origins Award winners announced, a new Stargate RPG, and more! Plus Mike joins is in playing Our Favorite Game in All the World!

Pathfinder 2E Paizo Update: Pathfinder 2E Core and Bestiary in Regular and Deluxe Editions

I wonder about Paizo's plans with the no-core classes (inquisitor, summoner, ninja, samurai, gunslinger, oracle, cavalier, witch..). If dragonborns and warlocks are in the SRD of the D&D 5th Ed... Could they appear in Pth 2nd ed?
Liminal is a new RPG by Paul Mitchener, just launched by Modiphius. It deals with "the boundary between the modern day United Kingdom and the Hidden World- the world of secret societies of magicians, a police division investigating Fortean crimes, fae courts, werewolf gangs, and haunted places where the walls between worlds are thin." UPDATE: The core book appears to have already sold out.
Two new miniature sets are now available from Modiphius, for use with their Star Trek Adventures RPG. These are the Original Series Landing Party, and the Iconic Villains sets. These are 32mm scale, unpainted resin miniatures.
I’m looking at RPG Kickstarters that end between June 28th and July 4th. I feature several that complete on July 4th, America’s Independence Day holiday, which makes the end date interesting – will the holiday impact final day pledge amounts? Check them out to see.
Beast-tamers, gunfighters, tinkerers, savants, and more! The Kickstarter for A TOUCH MORE CLASS has now launched! This brand new book includes nine new class for your 5E game, and the Kickstarter also includes the original book, A TOUCH OF CLASS, which contains seven original classes!
