TURTLEDOME!: Battle Bone (DM: KenHood, Judge: Lord S.)

Finnian jogs along behind Vaunea, trying to avoid being separated from his companions by the growing mob.

Gah! My feet are still wet in these boots. This is annoying. The half-elf scowls at no one in particular as he moves awkwardly in his wet leathers, water dripping down his legs into his boots.

Vann!, he yells, trying to be heard over the crowd. Where are we going?

Finnian watches as Vaunea ignores his question and charges through a closed door off the street.

Well then, I guess that answers that..., and he moves in behind Vaunea, drawing the bastard sword and dagger. Erlai drops in from the sky above hovering next to his master.

[sblock=ooc]Not sure on healing surges/hp right now. Inititative=10 btw, for after the surprise round. Oh and did I get any spells off last time? Seems like I got one off but that was it? Was there a resting period so I got any back?[/sblock]

[sblock=The Good News]Why did it take so long for this fight to get started? Because I wanted the proposal for double XP to pass! In other words, you guys will get double XP for these bad guys.

And you will have enough XP to reach level 2, should you survive!

[sblock=Greedy for XP?]I'm taking a vote. Do you want to get rid of Hadarai? If so, I can remove him early in this fight--and you guys get more XP.[/sblock][/sblock]
[sblock=The Even Better News]Since your survival will result in more XP, that means you guys need more items. So...

I want a wish list from each of you. The list should have three suggestions for items that you want for your character. Put it in sblocks on your first post during this fight.[/sblock]
[sblock=Mo!]I'm not resolving Vaunea's action, yet. Drivan gets his surprise round, then I'll let you know what happens.[/sblock]
[sblock=Reklaw]You haven't expended any limited use spells. You may expend 4 healing surges to get Drivan to 21 HP or 5 healing surges to get him to full HP. Let me know your choice.[/sblock]
Terrain Issues...
Any square with furniture is difficult terrain. Also, the furniture provides partial cover against characters on the opposite side.

The Mob...
The mob may get involved in the fight. They're pretty worked up.

Drivan...
Perform your surprise action. (Vaunea is not through the door yet, so don't worry about affecting her.) Then, I'll post status and initiative for everyone, and we'll begin the first round of combat.

[sblock=my initiative] 1d20=2 ...I think there's a bible quote that lets me go first. Oh well. It works if only because Emral's running around the back. I hope I'm not wasting my role this combat![/sblock]

[sblock=My vote] well, if he's gone then he's gone. Let's not kill the character per se, but for sure incapacitate him for long enough that the Arena would be over by the time he recovers (unless the player returns). (and yes, the fire genasi isn't into burning bridges :p).

Also: what about bringing in fresh meat? I'm sure there's a 2nd level cleric, warlord, artificer, shaman or bard who'd love to join us; if they can keep up, of course.
I love the idea of having more xp, don't get me wrong, but I want to not fall over while I'm getting it. Well, have Vaunea fall over while I get it. It can be done, I'm sure, but it'd be nice if Ken could let loose knowing we've got someone patching us up or giving us more attacks.[/sblock]

[sblock=Wishlist] Hmmm... admittedly, I've got an ideal build in mind for Emral: MC rogue before going Elemental Tempest PP. I want to find a Rogue MC feat that gets me stealth, or that background element (I don't remember if I picked it up; there was some question over whether that was ok... nope, it didn't get passed).
Anyway, I'll be picking up feats to let me use Leather armor,
and improved use with daggers, as I can double the implement daggers with weapon daggers.
There's a Jagged Dagger, and a Dragon tooth dagger, both of which are good for me: one improves my crit rates, the other lets me decide whether I've rolled an even or odd number on an attack (which is good for a wild mage).

I'm planning on being able to wade into combat and stab using Sorcerer powers as melee attacks (which I can already do), with combat advantage and sneak attack (which I'm working on). When I reach Elemental Tempest, I'll have powers to let me explode on command, really doing damage in melee.

If I reach epic, I'll probably be going demigod; straightforward, lots of encounter powers.[/sblock]

Can I change my action? rather than running around back (which it looks like I can't do), can I zip into the room? I'm thinking it'd be faster to just massacre that halfling before it can flank Vaunea; and Emral can keep getting Hadarai to make those extra attacks (which is silly, conceptually, leading the leader to lead us).

I gotta say, I'm surprised that bounty hunter with the missing hand isn't here. Well, we've got a day or two...

I'll cast sleep at H7 and I'll yell at Olivia, "Now's your chance to redeem yourself! Side with me and I'll make sure the mob leaves you in one piece!" (Want a diplomacy roll?)

Sleep attack vs. will
1d20+5[16,5] = (21)

[sblock=Wishlist]Staff that holds at least 1 encounter or daily spell, it can hold either the memorized spell or an additional spell. Figure daily is preferred but if thats to strong then one or two encounter spells.

Hat of diplomacy - A dark blue wizards hat that adds +5 to diplomacy check. A black band circles the base of the hat, embroidered with dark blue glyphs and sigils with a golden buckle.

Ring of defense - Grants a +2 to AC

Can come up with more if these don't work[/sblock]

A whole lot of stuff about multi-classing, paragon paths, and epic destinies.
Uh...yeah. So, what items do you want for Emral right now (other than the daggers)?

Staff that holds at least 1 additional spell, allowing Drivan to have an additional encounter spell or daily if thats possible
Ring of defense - Grants a +2 to AC
If you could give me the books in which you found these items, I'd appreciate it. I can't find any staves of appropriate level that do this, and I don't think there are any rings below level 10.[/sblock]
[sblock=Hadarai's Fate]One vote for no Hadarai. He's about to disappear...[/sblock]
[sblock=Reklaw]You never answered my question about your healing surges.[/sblock]
No posting your actions until your character's turn.

-----

Just as Vaunea batters the front door, Drivan bursts into the main room of the abandoned pawn shop.

"How the--" begins the wizard.

Drivan casts his sleep spell.

v. Will (1d20+5=6, 1d20+5=24, 1d20+5=18)

The wizard wards off Drivan's spell, but the goliath and half-orc grow drowsy.

The front door collapses, knocking down the chest and cabinet blocking the entrance. Vaunea's battle-cry, though stirring, does not strike fear into the hearts of her enemies.

The goliath, fighting off slumber, attempts to roar in challenge to Vaunea, but instead yawns. Bastard sword in hand, the warrior attacks...

Standard Action: Ram's Charge -- Miss!

Then, the giant drops to floor. Sound asleep. (Failed save!)

Hadarai does nothing. Staring straight ahead.

"Look at that *****!" shouts a member of the mob, "He ain't even interested in saving Marco!"

"Yeah!" shouts another, "The ***** ain't even liftin' a finger to help his buddies!"

"What a schmuck!"

"Oh, ***** me!" screams the halfling in terror, "That ***** wizard took out Shemp!"

The little terror, still dripping from his time in the bay, draws his dagger and rushes Drivan. (Move: from G3 to F6. Standard Action: Mobile Melee Attack, rolled 13 v. AC) Drivan's dodges the minute maniac's stab, and the halfling darts away.

"Release the Leperchauns, Roger!" yells the halfling at the wizard, "Release the ***** Leperchauns, or that mob will tear us apart!"

Finnian moves through the doorway (to J7) and yells at the half-orc to get his attention. Erlai, seeing his master with weapons drawn, moves to flank the half-orc by flying over the enemy (to H7).

[sblock=Erlai's Movement]Erlai is going to draw an opportunity attack by moving to H7. I'm assuming that there is enough headroom in here for Erlai to fly over the half-orc by spending a point moving up. If not, then I think there is still enough moves to go K6 to K8 to J9 to I8 to H7[/sblock]

The half-orc takes a swing as Erlai moves past, but the distraction has provided the ranger with an opening to attack. He swings his sword, and finds only air as he follows with his dagger.
