Yes, you can love both of them, but they're very different beasts which may appeal to very different tasts, and hating one of them is a perfectly valid point of view.
Yes. I like them both. I'm tired of Pathfinder. Been playing it a long time. I'd love to see a new Pathfinder streamlined and gutted of all the strange rules that lead to sickening combinations that players expect to be able to use as they hold DMs hostage to the text of the rule.
Is it? Isn't hatred too strong a point of view regarding a RPG variant? I can understand preference. I can understand "not my cup of tea". But hate, over a version of D&D? Not so sure that's valid. Generally hate is an emotion served for things which cause actual harm to people.

I said despise PF but that is just a term. Obviously I don't despise a game in the same way I may despise a person who has done something bad to me.
