The ears - no creature with ears like that has inanimate floppy rubber Shrek ears. Look at a cow, they are constantly moving, flicking and twitching. And ears are great for conveying emotion. Look at Grogu.

The art for firbolg is variable, sometimes they look more human, sometimes less. They could either do a big human in makeup with animatronic ears, or they could go all CGI for a larger, less human look. Look at Snoke. Snoke never needed to be CGI, but they chose to make him CGI anyway.

Okay... no. Probably not. Not likely to hide such a known actor behind makeup in a film that needs to do well. It is fun to think about, and he could probably pull it off.
Famous voices are a thing. And Andy Serkis is famous for his mo-cap work. Not to suggest he is in the cast.

Okay, I don’t think that is particularly significant as a cgi requirement, and they definitely could do it with practical effects IMO, but fair enough.

If they're using the Greyhawk Iconics with that cast?
Redgar, human male Fighter (Regé-Jean Page?)
Devis, half elven Bard (Chris Pine?)
Vadania, half elven female Druid (Rodriguez?)
Hennet, Human male Sorceror maybe a newbie? (Justice Smith?)

Would that work?

Going by the descriptions I've been reading it appears people are thinking Rene is either Bard or the Warlock, Chris is either the Cleric or the Paladin, Michelle as the Barbarian or Fighter and Justice as either the Sorceror or maybe Rogue?

I like Michelle playing the half elven druid, she can get up to a lot of hijinx including wild shaping.
I still think they need a Fighter though so if Rene is going Warlock that would be Pine's role not sure he'd want to be the Paladin though.
Justice could be the young Rogue that ends up getting them into trouble but also getting out of trouble to merit them being protective towards him, but does that support Rene being more villainous?

So many questions!

I don't see any reason why they would do that.

We have no reason to assume the currently announced cast members are "the party".

Page clearly has a ridiculously high charisma, which is why people are suggesting he play a warlock.

I've seen at least five Pine movies, and I really can't see him as a cleric or paladin. He is almost always a maverick, rogue or rebel who ignores the rulebook. And, given that GotG is the model, "the party" are likely to be a bunch of outlaws-turned-reluctant-heroes, not a bunch of Dudley-Do-Rights who have a paladin. Any paladins will probably throw the heroes in prison before failing to defeat the Big Bad because they play by the book.

The question is are they playing the party members or something entirely different?
Perhaps as some have posted one of them is the villain and the rest have to team up as he goes after them for some reason?
