That someone better
I remember her name too. Isn’t that weird. Some things stick in the memory...

Wonder if that will trend on twitter soon. "Omg they just hired Hugh Grant he exploits......"

I remember her name as well.

Anyone else remember the T-Shirt that was sold at the time with his mugshot on the front, and on the back:

"To err is Hughman, forgiveness is Divine..."

He was also single handedly responsible for putting Jay Leno over the top in his ratings war with David Letterman at the time.

I swear "Love Actually" is on repeat around Christmas time on TV/Cable almost as often as "A Christmas Story". Some people love that movie (I do) and some people loathe it, but it's one of those movies you should see once just to be able to say you've seen it :)
Now people have got me thinking I mustve seen at least one movie with him, and "Love Actually" somewhat rings a bell but I looked up his movies again and didnt see even one. Well looks I have no choice but to suffer through D&D: the Next Movie just to say I've seen a Hugh Grant movie.

Not recently prior to that. The only ones who were in recent big movies were Hugo Weaving and Liv Tyler (Matrix and Armageddon) to my knowledge. In LoTR, the main core actors, none of them had done anything major as an A list actor in big budget film for years prior to 2000. Ian did X Men right before LotR, but was doing LoTR work before the X men movie actually had made it big, and he wasn't considered an automatic A lister at that time he was cast in LoTR. Several great actors, sure, but none of them commanded automatic big budgets based on name only, which is what A listers do.

Surprised there wasn't a t-shirt with Eddie Murphy...good Samaritan on it.

He wasn't A list at the time IMHO.
Exactly. That was my point. That even LotR didn't have an A list actor cast at the time it was being filmed. Several now are considered A list, but in large part because of that movie. So using D&D's current movie casting and comparing it to LotR's cast seems a bit flawed.
