D&D General "Red Orc" American Indians and "Yellow Orc" Mongolians in D&D

They've probably made a pittance and they've got to own the amount they received, which is minimal. An apology and removal of the document is sufficient.

Old hotness: Hasbro sucks! They won't let anyone have access to the old games in pdf. They aren't even available in any other medium.

New Hotness: Hasbro sucks! They make the old TSR products available in pdf where people can buy them!

Oh well. Fun while it lasted? :)

EDIT- I found a great 2012 post arguing they shouldn't provide pdfs because it would cannibalize sales from Fourth Edition. That did not age well!

This seems like a non-issue. I think that you can make comments on the issue of racism in these comics without having to make any sort of attack on EU passport holders in the UK.
That's not quite what I meant. Connecting racism in comics to racism in the country could itself be interpreted as racist, and anti-European racism is a big problem here at present.

Although it's not new. Exhibit A: Hercule Poirot.

I mean, as a Brit, I don't have much idea what you're talking about, to be honest. There's been unfair hostility to people from the EU (esp. Eastern parts) for a very long time, I'm not aware of it getting worse recently. And what's wrong with our Belgian friend Poirot? Are you just saying Brits have been wankers towards Europeans for a long time?

Also not David Suchet-Poirot, sheesh? Do you even Poirot, bro?

I have a couple of EU friends who have made a life in Britain and are currently battling deportation and separation from their British families, so it's more than "unfair hostility", although that's why the government is doing it.

I mean, tell me about it?

My wife and I fought a three-year legal battle against the Home Office because of the introduction of the "Hostile Environment" policy leading to some idiot at the Home Office refusing her leave to remain on spurious grounds, and then them trying to deport her. Eventually we won, because just before we went to court, the HO went "OOPS SORRY! ALL A MISTAKE!!!" after all sort of horrible threats, deeply invasive investigations and demands, loss of potential earnings (which you can't even sue for, note) and nasty phone calls and so on, paid us our costs (as the court required), and gave her ILR (now a citizen, thank goodness).

I don't think that's anything new. The only novel thing is that Brexit has invalidated vast numbers of people's right to remain, and the Home Office, still being completely incompetent and unfit for purpose, and still having a "Hostile Environment" attitude, is probably trying to deport people who have quite properly and rightly applied for settled status and so on.

So your friends have my sympathies and my rage, but I don't see this as novel racism myself, rather something bad now impacts even more people.
