Picard season 2 (spoilers maybe unmarked)

The UK and Scotland? Do you know something we don't? I mean I know Scottish independence movements are a thing....
yes, I guess i do know something you don't since I just said I looked it up and found out.. Unless you're being pedantic about me calling Scottland a country. And now we've killed the joke and then buried it. So I'm done with this sidetrack.

Scotland is part of the U.K.

Star Trek Picard: The Voyage Home!
I thought that it seemed very meta, in that they deliberately set out to reflect that movie. Not only the same time travel sequence, but similar culture shock jokes in present day California, similar character injured in a fall and taken to hospital. I was surprised a garbage truck didn't arrive in the Picard vineyard!

Maybe they will find out that Star Trek is a TV show, and they have to stop it being cancelled (hence the Rick and Morty reference)?

That makes me wonder . . . where did the La Sirena crash? The crew beamed to L.A., but when they asked Picard where he was aiming the ship, he said "home". Did they crash in Chateau Picard's vineyards?
Yes, it was dark, but you could just make out the chateau and vines. (also, time zone: night in France day in LA).

And that might be where history gets changed, since it seems to relate to the Picard family.

Doesn't it seem like the most likely candidate for the watcher is Guinan? I'm surprised Picard hasn't mentioned her, he knows she was in San Francisco in 1892.

Half the Picard Family Vineyard is destroyed in a freak "meteor" hit causing them to be tragically poor, rather than fabulously rich, and they become evil overlords as a result.

If you mention who the guest star is going to be, then it can't be a "surprise" to the audience. (In quotes, because it rarely really is.)

Yes, I was thinking Guinan as the Watcher as well.

But then, I started doubting. Could it be our humanoid android friend in some form? Not sure how that would work with the meta-physics, but having Soji there could certainly mess up the timeline.

Cheers :)
