Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

D&D Direct, WotC's new video-format announcement show launches today at 9am PDT (5pm BST). If you aren't able to watch it, I'll be updating this article live. Feel free to comment below! I hear the 64 pages a lot. Do we know that each book is 64 pages? I have seen a comment on a few sites that the adventure is 64 pages, but I haven't seen it confirmed that all three are. They are probably just mock-ups, but the image of the three books makes them look like they are not all the same size.

Anyone know what the window was between Eberron being published and it opening on the DM's Guild? Same for Ravenloft. How long do people estimate before we get to see some truly epic bizarre madness unleashed?

Many of the settings where almost instantly available. I am pretty sure Strixhaven content was available the day the book went on sale.

Perkins said it in the Direct, and that is what the D&D official product page lists.

Eberron was opened the day they released Explorer's Guide to Eberron, nearly a year before the book came out. Similarly, Ravenloft was opened after Curse of Strahd, not Van Richten. But the M:TG settings (Ravnica, Theros and Strixhaven) were within a week tops.

I honestly think their plan is to scrap the crystal sphere idea and have Wildspace be like, maybe a Sub-region of the astral.

While I’m not 100% okay with this change, it kinda DOES remove the old concern of “why don’t groundlings know about Spelljammer culture and why don’t spacers just dominate the groundling trade market?” if the ships rarely interact with prime worlds outside of the occasional dimension hopping nautolid incursions.

I’m guess that a ship needs to get far enough away from the star then it can shift to the astral plane, fly to a portal then back into Wildspace to fly to the target planet. The Astral replaces the phlogiston.

I'm really excited about the Monstrous Compendium. I've already begun brainstorming how to reflavor the Asteroid Spider, Clockwork Horror, Fractine, and Star Lancer for my campaign world.

Honestly, these views are promoted by modern-day fan culture, which promotes nostalgia as a virtue.

Hell, if you're a GenXer, your words hold more weight on what the franchise or series should be.
