I mean that the price quotes I've seen for X number of hardcover books double for doubling the page count.
Are you talking about POD? Because I've done an awful lot of print buying and I've never, ever seen that. Typically there's something of a U-shaped curve: Your cost-per-page (or really cost-per-signature) is higher for very short books, then flattens out for a broadish range of signatures, then starts to get expensive again when you try to do really fat books.

Well, you probably know more about it than I do, then: as I said, what I've seen is comically out of scale with my super limited experience in College.

I wonder if they're going to retcon the Crystal Spheres into being the fragments of Sardior's fractured body. It certainly fits their First World and 5e Multiverse lore. I'm also confused as to how the Solar and Lunar Dragons fit into 5e's dragon classifications. Are they "True" Dragons? If they are, do they count as Chromatic, Metallic, or Gem Dragons? Or something else, like the Moonstone Dragons?

(Gosh, having both "Lunar" and "Moonstone" dragons is going to get confusing. I'm just going to get rid of Faerie Dragons, rename the Moonstone Dragons to Fae/Faerie Dragons, and then keep Lunar Dragons in whatever form they'll be published in.)

They're just gonna do what they did to Ravenloft.

Butcher these settings.
I thought Ravenloft was great. I don't know exactly what the setting was like in previous editions, but from what I've heard, the idea of a "Core" is dumb anyways. The book is supposed to be a tool to running horror adventures in D&D, and from my experience, it does that really well.

Anyone know what the window was between Eberron being published and it opening on the DM's Guild? Same for Ravenloft. How long do people estimate before we get to see some truly epic bizarre madness unleashed?
Spelljammer is one of the most insane fantasy settings ever, and that's what makes it awesome. While playing in Spelljammer you can have an Awakened Giant Space Hamster that has a symbiotic relationship with a sentient flying space plant (Gadabout) that it uses to travel Wildspace and sample cheeses from all across the Multiverse, and have it be the least weird thing included in the entire campaign.

The more I learn about people's preferred "version" of a setting, the more I believe people prefer the version they grew up with. Meaning, folks whose first experience with Ravenloft was THE OG Ravenloft, like that version. The folks who first started with the Core, like that. And then there's folks (like me) who started with Curse of Strahd and like that.
