D&D 5E New Baldur's Gate 3 Video

I'm sure Larian can make a great Larian game. That doesn't mean I find it a good BG game. If I want to read funny and extremely empathic Discworld fantasy I don't buy a GRR Martin book.
Are you talking about the sense of humor? BG1 and BG2 were overflowing with low brow humor and silly jokes. Everything from Minsc in general, Xan depressing Ajantis, Larry, Darryl and Darryl, "You wouldn't kill a man with a wife and children", "I can take on Drizzit with both arms tied behind my ... ghaarrkh!", all of Tiax, "Hey, don't click me! I don't want any trouble!", and hundreds of others.

I would put BG1 and BG2 somewhere in the middle. Like:
(Silly) Dragon Commander > DOS 1 > BG1 > Beyond Divinity > Ego Draconis > BG2 > Divine Divinity > DOS 2 (Less Silly)
And when I say (Less Silly), we're still talking moderately silly.

"Don't touch me...I'm super-important."

These days, neither can Bioware. And Baldur's Gate doesn't need another story, Throne of Bhaal wrapped everything up with a bow. I'm happy with a Larian D&D game with Baldur's Gate on the label for marketing purposes.

Interestingly, there was another story after Throne of Bhaal. Adrian rejects his divinity and chooses to live out his days as a mortal, enlists in the Flaming Fists and eventually rises through the ranks to become their new Marshal. Many years pass, and then another Bhaalspawn attempts to assassinate him. Turns out that was the last Bhaalspawn, and the winner turns into the Slayer and goes on a rampage. It is eventually slain and thus ends the Bhaalspawn saga. Not with a bang, but a wet fart.

DarkCrisis

Reeks of Jedi
Any human character from BG 1-2 are more than likely dead due to the 100 year time jump (4th ed screwed up Faerun good).

Minsc is alive due to magic.

Elves and Dwarves etc we could see some older versions of.

I hope we run into Edwina (yes spelled correctly) somehow.

It's not like the BG3 development haven't cost a fortune in time and money already. Freeing up time to create that long and involved story may be moot when you play through that story with DOS2 mechanics instead of 5e feel.
It would cost exponentially more time and money to do otherwise. That's a ship that's sailed, and rightfully so.

What are these DOS2 mechanics that you are having an issue with anyway? What's the loss of 5e feel? Remember also that transcribing an in-person ruleset to a video game experience (as I mentioned in my last post) is not seamless. Certain aspects of P&P don't work in a video game... that's just reality. It's the same principle that applies when trying to bring a well-loved novel to the big screen. These are different mediums, so by definition will not be presentable in the same manner.

Are there issues with the BG3 early access that you've found that aren't addressed by what I've just mentioned?
