right past the ears and the eye shape are basically human, what is so alien about them, the eyes look stylised more than anything and the ears are variable depending on the setting.

For a while I was legit thinking "that elf farthest to the left looks really human, though." Then I read the text next to him saying "Human"
I have seen eyes like that in realistic lighting in 2011 and no one picked them for a reason they just creep people out, giant bug people are less creepy. For a while I was legit thinking "that elf farthest to the left looks really human, though." Then I read the text next to him saying "Human"
Though in the case of Jaheira, I think it's fair that she doesn't have the signature slanted eyes and have more rounded facial features. After all, she is half-elven.
She's a half elfThey made the non-humans, look way too human.
The wood elf looks pretty close to human as well. The face is narrow and has a pointed chin, but there are people IRL who have narrow faces and pointed chins (I'm specifically thinking of a former friend, actually.) The only ones that look even remotely "alien" to me are the Moon Elf and the Drow, and even then they aren't that divergent from what is theoretically achievable with a human skull. I mean, keep in mind, there have been human societies who intentionally reshaped the craniums of their children.)right past the ears and the eye shape are basically human, what is so alien about them, the eyes look stylised more than anything and the ears are variable depending on the setting.
So you didn't like the BG II companions either I guess. Man you are playing the game for basically the opposite reason as I would. The Story is what interests me.I'm done with BG3 until I can build my whole party without having to use pre-made companions. I don't mind witty/funny NPC dialog, but honestly I have zero interest in a canned video game storyline. That's not roleplaying. I just want to kill stuff using different party builds.
I do too. I'm certainly not suggesting it's a bad rendering or anything like that. It's just that she's not exactly a distinctive character to begin with, so with the change in graphics and the years that have passed since I played the original games, it just wasn't obvious to me who it was.I actually think that is very recognizably a middle-aged version of this character:
In other news, I've had the same haircut for the past 35 years. Why mess with perfection? That's her BG2 in-game portrait. She even helpfully has the same haircut, which is certainly not true for me from my 20s to my 40s, which is basically the age difference for her here. And I'm pretty sure they used the same voice actor.
