Oh Goldeneye I remember it fondly. My friends at the time were pure console gamers. FPS games were still a mystery to them. The first night we unboxed Goldeneye I cleaned house with my Doom/Quake experience. Not a single death and they marveled at it. Like 6 weeks later, they had all surpassed me and I couldn't win a match for the life of me.

It's now on gamepass for the box and on the Nintendo switch, total emulation other than the controls which have been updated.

It feels good.
Deep down, it felt kind of silly being so irate at "Big Corporate" over what's ultimately "just a game." But when there are so many other massive, truly intractable problems in the world to feel utterly helpless about, it's so, so, so great to see that winning is possible. And maybe the next battle will be a little bigger, and the next BBEG will fall a little harder.
