I dunno. Maybe if more people countered daft marginal online silliness, then we’d get less of it? Or at least less people parroting it.

We have hundred-page threads here on EN World that tells us that countering takes of the opposing side does not in fact reduce the amount of discussion on the matter. And in fact usually increases it.

It's the threads that say things that aren't worth talking about that stop being a thing pretty quickly, LOL.

Just to focus in on this part, Mark rosewater is the head designer on the Magic the Gayhering side of the equation, and he has explained on Tumblr to Mafic fans that WotC has stopped doing old-timey cheesecake on Magic cards because it turns oit...sex doesn't sell. Cheesecake reduces sales numbers and turns off players from a game. So no, WotC isn't goikf to hurt their bottom line with Boomer Bewbs.

I'll point out the 3 witches in the upcoming set are pretty hot.

And honestly BG3's success does show in fact that sex does sell, as long as its not the only thing you running with, pair with general high quality and fun.

I think their experiences with those (dreadful) books are one of the reasons they won’t try it again.

I suspect the slight aversion to going too deep into ickiness in the modern market is why we’re getting a giant book ahead/instead of an undead book or a fiend book, too.

If they put out a book that hit the same tone, the same style, and yes I guess was 'blood and boobs' (is this a genre now??) as BG3 that would certainly go a long way in showing this supposed big tent is indeed for everyone.

But violence and gore? $$$

I think sexuality has its place. You don't need to have exclusionary cheesecake to have sexuality.
