Vecna: Eve of Ruin

D&D 5E Vecna: Eve of Ruin Coming May 21st!

My guess is that they'll mostly be Archmages that have already appeared in 5e. Mordenkainen was in Curse of Strahd and Descent into Avernus and Tasha was in the The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, so those are my guesses. I don't think Elminster has appeared in any 5e books yet, but he is big enough of a character that he'll probably be included.

My guess is Mordenkainen, Tasha, and Elminster.
Dalamar appears in Shadow of the Dragon Queen.

I think that's unlikely. The adventure blurb says "some of the multiverse's most famous archmages". Laeral Silverhand may be a big deal on the Sword Coast, but she's not "multiverse-famous".

I'd say the main candidates are the ones that have spells named after them in the PHB; Tasha, Mordekainen, Bigby and ... Leomund? ... Melf?
At this point, why not just have the original seven from the council?

I don't think it means "famous throughout the multiverse in the fiction" I think it means "archmages you the consumer have heard of because we are now calling our collection of settings a multiverse for some reason."

Don't forget about Princes of the Apocalypse, an expansion adventure based upon Temple of Elemental Evil; Out of the Abyss is a spinoff of Pathfinders adventure path The Savage Tide in Dungeon Magazines, such as the Isle of Dread; Saltmarsh - its a given; and Tomb of Anihilation is a extended expansion spinoff of The Tomb of Horrors.

Hmm, not sure on your Spelljammer assessment. BMy guess is Baal - no brainer; then Ravenlofts- Curse if Strahd; then
bottom symbol is Lolths or Planescape Factions: Bleak or Anarchists.
Here is a picture of the Spelljammer set with that symbol at the base of the spine for all three books:

As I said earlier, the pictures in crystals on the cover of the regular version are of Ravenloft, Spelljammer, and Avernus. The symbols on the back cover of the alt cover are the symbols used on the adventure books for Ravenloft, Spelljammer, and Avernus. That definitely suggests that those three are going to play important roles.

Yup. This is advertising copy, and that's what advertising copy is for.

All of those are Forgotten Realms adventures. Inspired by some old content made for other settings, but not based on it. Saltmarsh on the other hand, is by default set in Greyhawk, with guidelines to place the story in other settings if the DM wants.

Sweet, I stored the case on its side way up on my shelf away from viewing because I never want to look at it again, so the binding can not be seen. I knew I seen the image but could not place my memory on the icon. The upside crescent moon or crown threw me off. Great catch.
